UK: How the BBC Lies – Is Labour Sabotaging Its Own NI Rise? (17.4.2025)

Author’s Note: There is a popular saying in the UK which is “Two Tier Kier” – an attack on the Labour Party and its supposed leftwing policies. In reality, the hypocrisies this mantra reflects were here long before Labour recently came to power – but it is interesting that such an observation is being trumpeted by the left, right, and centre of the political spectrum. The British bourgeoisie has retained power since the supposed “Restoration” of the Crown in 1660 by “lying” and generating smoke-screens to hide is profit-seeking power mechanism (an “absolute” monarchy was never re-instated – and does not exist today). Today, the bourgeois bounces straights off of gay, transexuals off of cis, rich off of poor, and one religion off another. For instance, Hackney Council has a historical issue with child abuse within the local Jewish community – but the broader media refuses to report the issue and the government will not act. Meanwhile, in Luton the mainstream media and the government co-ordinated their attacks upon a leader of a Muslim school who pursued policies similar to those practiced in the Jewish community. Two faith schools, two comparable situations – two very different outcomes. ACW (17.4.2025)

Whilst prices rocketed paying for the Ukraine War – and millions suffered and died under Tory Austerity – the BBC said nothing (we were once part of an Anti-Austerity March that assembled “outside” the BBC’s London Headquarters – millions marched but the BBC led that day with a lead-story about “fishing-stocks in Sweden”). Now that the incumbent Labour Party has raised National Insurance (tax automatically collected from everyone’s wages to pay for education, NHS, street lights, public health and a raft of other essential services) – the BBC is pursuing a blatant policy of “inserting” falsehood into news stories. Why is this? NI is the source of all British Socialism – cut NI and everything must be privatised and sold for profit – increase it and Socialism can be strengthened and advanced (not that Labour will go that far – but they have to start somewhere to reward their voters).

For instance, above is an example amongst many. The interviewee clearly states that historical “rising costs” is the problem (caused by Obama, Trump, Biden, and Trump II) – with the BBC journalist (or Editor) inserting the usual “NI rise” clause into the story – to fool the general public that price rises are caused by the mechanism that is designed to redistribute wealth and prevent price-rises. In this regard, the BBC is aligning its reporting with the rightwing media. The BBC was just as rabid when it fought to bring down Labour Prime Minister Gordon Brown (2008-2010) calling him a “Communist” when he brought in a “Free Bus-Pass” for the elderly – and when the BBC fought to prevent the leftwing Labour leader – Jeremy Corbyn (2016-2019) becoming Prime Minister on the false grounds that his support for Palestine was “anti-Semitic” and that a purely Socialist NHS could no longer be afforded because of “migrants” (but obviously not Neo-Nazi Ukrainians). A letter penned by leftwing British Jews “supporting” Jeremy Corbyn was published on the Guardian website – and was taken-down after just one-hour following a telephone call from Tel Aviv to 10 Downing Street.

Ex-“Guardian” journalist – Jonathan Cook – recalled in 2021:

“The Guardian’s relations with Israel and Zionism date back to the founding editor. A staunch Zionist, Scott was critically important in liaising between the British governmentt and the Zionist movement in the drafting of the 1917 Balfour Declaration. […]

As documented in Daphna Baram’s book [2004] entitled “Disenchantment” – the Guardian has indulged the Zionist State of Israel ever since, much as a parent would a wayward child. […] The Guardian historically developed close ties to the liberal Jewish community in the UK”

This explains “why” this media outlet (once considered far-left) acting concordance with the BBC, spearheaded the war against Corbyn over his alleged “anti-Semitism”.

It is odd, as the BBC is funded by public subscription (a contentious practice enforced by law – as it mostly represents the minority Bourgeoisie and not the majority Workers who pay for it) and is usually answerable to the government of the day – which controls and regulates its content. This has led some to speculate that the Labour government is working to sabotage its own policy by turning the populace against NI contributions in preparation for there eventual abolition. The reason I think this idea might hold some traction, is that the BBC does not usually contradict the government in power – as said government directly controls its funding and content. Furthermore, I know from a friend who worked in a UK government department that in 2009 the longterm Labour policy involved the complete abolition of the Welfare State and NHS – selling it all off to US firms. Indeed, this is the policy of all three main political parties in the UK – and across the EU.

Only specially selected incomers (such as Ukrainian Neo-Nazis and Hong Kong Rioters) receive lavish help, whilst other (less desirable groups according to the British Establishment) receive next to nothing. Of course, many ordinary British receive nothing or decidedly deficient and abusive “care”. The entire policy seems to be designed to cause fighting between groups – as we all blame one another for our suffering – when our suffering is caused by predatory capitalism. In reality, in normal times, a rise in NI contributions would be a miniscule inconvenience across the nation that would mostly attract the ire of the rightwing – which is opposed to Socialism of any kind. Things would get better as person-centred services (as opposed to profit-centred services) would expand and be strengthened.

In 2014, however, Obama said the Europe-wide price-hikes were necessary if Europeans did not want to send troops to Ukraine. First time around, Trump sent more arms to Neo-Nazi Ukraine and stifled freedom of speech (Trump Part I saw myself permanently “banned from Facebook and Twitter for “supporting an enemy of the US” – whenever I published articles about China – from China – written from a Chinese point of view). When Russia entered Donbass in 2022, Biden said that Europe had to pay for the war in Ukraine – or send European troops into Ukraine to fight and die. Today, Trump talks peace but continues to arm Neo-Nazi Ukraine. His idea is that Europeans should pay for the US soldiers that still walk our streets as occupiers. None of this external manipulation of the UK is mentioned by the BBC – only NI contributions and cancelled flower shows…

Best Wishes
