In the heart of the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, over five days from November 28 to December 2, 2024, international delegations will gather to commemorate the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People at the Caracas International Conference in Solidarity with Palestine. This conference is held at the official invitation of the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and in the presence of President Nicolás Maduro, known for his firm positions in support of Palestine and its people. Ibrahim Ibrahim, representative of the Palestine Democratic Committees in Germany, will participate in the conference, along with prominent figures and solidarity movements from various countries around the world.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said the Palestinian cause is “the most just cause in human history.” He stressed that his country will continue to support the Palestinian people with all its strength, accusing the United States, Europe and Latin America of complicity in the “genocide” committed by Israel in Palestine. Maduro added that Venezuela unwaveringly supports the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state.
This event comes amidst the escalation of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, which is entering its thirteenth month, leaving behind massive destruction and thousands of martyrs and wounded in a genocidal war against the Palestinian people. While most countries in the world evade their moral and legal responsibilities towards the Palestinian cause, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela stands as a courageous voice in the face of Western policies biased towards the Israeli occupation.
The participating delegations were warmly received by the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reflecting Venezuela’s deep commitment to the Palestinian cause. The conference opened with discussions focusing on ongoing Israeli crimes and the need for decisive international positions to support Palestinian rights.
Every year on November 29, the world commemorates the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which was approved by the United Nations General Assembly in 1977 to remind the world of the Palestinians’ usurped rights and their ongoing suffering under occupation. But for many, this day has become a mere occasion for speeches and slogans, without any real steps that do justice to the Palestinian people.
Palestinians question the value of this solidarity at a time when Israeli violations are escalating unchecked, and the occupation continues its settlement expansion amid international silence that borders on complicity. Despite this, Venezuela remains an honorable model of true solidarity that extends to tangible actions and clear political positions in international forums.
Venezuela, under President Nicolás Maduro and before him the late President Hugo Chavez, has long stood by the Palestinian cause. It has supported the Palestinians’ right to self-determination, strongly condemned Israeli crimes, and severed diplomatic relations with Israel in 2009 in protest over the aggression on Gaza.
Venezuela’s position stands in stark contrast to Western countries, which provide unconditional support to Israel, even in the face of clear crimes against humanity. Despite economic sanctions and political pressure, Venezuela is a model of political independence and commitment to justice.
Just as the Venezuelan people stand in solidarity with Palestine, the Palestinians reciprocate by supporting Venezuela in its fight against Western interference. Venezuela faces smear campaigns and international pressures aimed at destabilizing it. This mutual solidarity reflects the depth of the relationship between the two peoples, who are facing a common fight against occupation and imperialism.
Ibrahim Ibrahim expressed his gratitude to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, its leadership and people, for its honorable stances towards Palestine. He stressed the importance of true international solidarity that goes beyond slogans to concrete actions, calling on other countries to follow Venezuela’s example. He also stressed the need to enhance cooperation between global popular movements to confront injustice and occupation.
The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People must be more than just a rhetorical occasion. It is a cry in the face of the occupation and a reminder to the world that the Palestinian cause remains a human struggle for justice and freedom. Venezuela has demonstrated that true solidarity is a stance and action, not just words that are forgotten when the occasion is over.
It is a call to countries and movements that believe in freedom and justice to stand with Palestine, just as Palestine always stands with all those who struggle against occupation and colonialism.

يوم التضامن العالمي مع الشعب الفلسطيني: حدث في كراكاس يكشف نفاق العالم ويؤكد مواقف فنزويلا الثابتة

في قلب العاصمة الفنزويلية كراكاس، وعلى مدى خمسة أيام من 28 نوفمبر إلى 2 ديسمبر 2024، تجتمع الوفود الدولية لإحياء يوم التضامن العالمي مع الشعب الفلسطيني في مؤتمر كراكاس الدولي للتضامن مع فلسطين. يُعقد هذا المؤتمر بدعوة رسمية من وزارة الخارجية الفنزويلية، وبحضور الرئيس نيكولاس مادورو، المعروف بمواقفه الثابتة في دعم فلسطين وشعبها. يشارك في المؤتمر إبراهيم إبراهيم، ممثل لجان فلسطين الديمقراطية في ألمانيا، إلى جانب شخصيات بارزة وحركات تضامن من مختلف دول العالم.
قال الرئيس الفنزويلي نيكولاس مادورو إن القضية الفلسطينية “أكثر القضايا عدالة في التاريخ الإنساني”. وأكد أن بلاده ستواصل دعمها للشعب الفلسطيني بكل قوة، متهماً الولايات المتحدة وأوروبا وأميركا اللاتينية بالتواطؤ في “الإبادة الجماعية” التي ترتكبها إسرائيل في فلسطين. وأضاف مادورو أن فنزويلا تدعم بلا تردد حق الشعب الفلسطيني في إقامة دولته المستقلة.
يأتي هذا الحدث في ظل تصاعد العدوان الإسرائيلي على قطاع غزة، الذي يدخل شهره الثالث عشر، مخلفاً دماراً هائلاً وآلاف الشهداء والجرحى في حرب إبادة جماعية ضد الشعب الفلسطيني. وبينما تتنصل أغلب دول العالم من مسؤولياتها الأخلاقية والقانونية تجاه القضية الفلسطينية، تقف جمهورية فنزويلا البوليفارية كصوت شجاع في وجه السياسات الغربية المنحازة للاحتلال الإسرائيلي.
استُقبلت الوفود المشاركة بحفاوة من وزارة الخارجية الفنزويلية، ما يعكس التزام فنزويلا العميق بالقضية الفلسطينية. وافتتح المؤتمر جلساته بنقاشات تركزت على الجرائم الإسرائيلية المستمرة وضرورة اتخاذ مواقف دولية حاسمة لدعم الحقوق الفلسطينية.
في 29 نوفمبر من كل عام، يُحيي العالم يوم التضامن العالمي مع الشعب الفلسطيني، الذي أقرّته الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة عام 1977 لتذكير العالم بحقوق الفلسطينيين المسلوبة ومعاناتهم المستمرة تحت الاحتلال. لكن بالنسبة للكثيرين، تحول هذا اليوم إلى مجرد مناسبة للخطب والشعارات، دون خطوات فعلية تُنصف الشعب الفلسطيني.
يتساءل الفلسطينيون عن جدوى هذا التضامن في وقت تتصاعد فيه الانتهاكات الإسرائيلية بلا رادع، ويواصل الاحتلال توسعه الاستيطاني وسط صمت دولي يصل حد التواطؤ. رغم ذلك، تبقى فنزويلا نموذجاً مشرفاً للتضامن الحقيقي الذي يمتد إلى أفعال ملموسة ومواقف سياسية واضحة في المحافل الدولية.
لطالما وقفت فنزويلا، بقيادة الرئيس نيكولاس مادورو، وقبلها الرئيس الراحل هوغو تشافيز، إلى جانب القضية الفلسطينية. دعمت حق الفلسطينيين في تقرير مصيرهم، وأدانت الجرائم الإسرائيلية بشدة، وقطعت علاقاتها الدبلوماسية مع إسرائيل عام 2009 احتجاجاً على العدوان على غزة.
موقف فنزويلا يُبرز التناقض الصارخ مع الدول الغربية، التي تقدم دعماً غير مشروط لإسرائيل، حتى في ظل الجرائم الواضحة ضد الإنسانية. ورغم العقوبات الاقتصادية والضغوط السياسية، تقدم فنزويلا نموذجاً يُحتذى به في الاستقلالية السياسية والانحياز للعدالة.
كما يتضامن الشعب الفنزويلي مع فلسطين، فإن الفلسطينيين يبادلون هذا التضامن بدعمهم لفنزويلا في معركتها ضد التدخلات الغربية. تواجه فنزويلا حملات تشويه وضغوطاً دولية تهدف إلى زعزعة استقرارها. هذا التضامن المتبادل يعكس عمق العلاقة بين الشعبين، اللذين يواجهان معركة مشتركة ضد الاحتلال والإمبريالية.
عبّر إبراهيم إبراهيم عن شكره لجمهورية فنزويلا البوليفارية قيادة وشعباً على مواقفها المشرفة تجاه فلسطين. وأكد أهمية التضامن الدولي الحقيقي الذي يتجاوز الشعارات إلى أفعال ملموسة، داعياً الدول الأخرى إلى الاقتداء بفنزويلا. كما شدد على ضرورة تعزيز التعاون بين الحركات الشعبية العالمية لمواجهة الظلم والاحتلال.
يوم التضامن العالمي مع الشعب الفلسطيني يجب أن يكون أكثر من مجرد مناسبة خطابية. إنه صرخة في وجه الاحتلال وتذكير للعالم بأن القضية الفلسطينية ما زالت تمثل معركة إنسانية للعدالة والحرية. أثبتت فنزويلا أن التضامن الحقيقي هو موقف وفعل، وليس مجرد كلمات تُنسى بانتهاء المناسبة.
إنها دعوة للدول والحركات المؤمنة بالحرية والعدالة للوقوف مع فلسطين، كما تقف فلسطين دائماً مع كل من يناضل ضد الاحتلال والاستعمار.
