Media Office of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in Lebanon
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine considered that the defeat of the Zionist Enemy Army – driving the invaders from large parts of the Occupied Lebanese Territories, on May 25th, 2000 – as a qualitative and historical achievement, military victory, and a strategic transformation in the history of the Arab-Zionist conflict! This was achieved thanks to the steadfastness and sacrifices of the brotherly Lebanese people and their valiant Resistance which began during the first moments of the Zionist invasion of Lebanon in 1982. That Resistance disturbed and routed the Zionist Occupation, inflicted on it heavy losses, and destroyed forever the myth of the “Invincible Army”! The memory of the people of Beirut still preserves the calls and pleas of the (cowardly) Zionist Enemy Army through loudspeakers as it shouted in the streets: “Oh people of Beirut, do not shoot at us. We are withdrawing!” Indeed, the Occupation Army was defeated from the capital – Beirut – during the first weeks of its failed illegal Occupation. This was the first time that the Occupation Army was defeated from an Arab land that it had illegally invaded without any restrictions or conditions!
The Front expressed the highest feelings of loyalty and gratitude to the Resisting Lebanese people, who have made – and continue to make – great sacrifices in support of Palestine and its cause in defense of their land, their capabilities, and their national dignity! This grand effort of Solidarity refuses to consider surrender. In order to pursue this path the Lebanese people have provided thousands of martyrs, wounded, and missing persons, and have continued to bear the crimes of the Zionist Occupation Army and its targeting of every tree, every person people and stone – with the aim of imposing defeat and surrender! This will never succeed! The Lebanese people will always support the Palestinian people! The Front saluted the Comrades-in-Arms of the Lebanese National Resistance Front with all its Parties and Factions – which have had the honour of firing of the first bullets in this righteous battle of survival. The Front also pays tribute and offers its appreciation to the Khandaq brothers in the Amal Movement and the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, who had the honour of continuing, sustaining and developing the Resistance to liberate large parts of Southern Lebanon – and cleanse these areas of the filth of the Occupation of May 25th, 2000!
The Front also highly appreciates the emergence of the Lebanese Resistance Forces, and the many components of the Lebanese people and Resistance Forces, especially our brothers in Hezbollah and the Islamic Resistance, for their support and assistance to our Resistant Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Jerusalem – throughout the Battle of (Al-Aqsa Flood), by considering it a Southern Front. Lebanon is a Front for support of the Palestinian people and their brave Resistance – whilst considering the martyrs of the Al-Aqsa Flood battle – as martyrs on the road to Jerusalem!
The Front also affirmed that our Resisting Palestinian people – along with all the honourable people of our nation – and the free people of the world, will not forget the brotherly people of Lebanon and their Resistance Forces, their support and Solidarity with the struggle of our people, especially our people in Southern Lebanon and the western Bekaa in particular, and the people of the Front villages who have endured and are still bearing the ugliest, most ferocious Zionist crimes! A campaign of systematic destruction of Lebanese villages and towns, and assassination crimes targeting innocent civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, and the destruction of homes and infrastructure – bring down buildings upon the heads of their residents, with the aim of breaking their will, and discouraging them from continuing their support and assistance to our people!
The Front advances the highest feelings of sadness and loyalty to the families of the martyrs, and wishes a speedy recovery to the wounded, stressing that victory will inevitably come, and we will celebrate together on the land of Palestine, liberated from the filth of Zionist Occupation!
The Front concluded by extending its congratulations and blessings to the government, army, and people of brotherly Lebanon, and to the heroic Resistance fighters steadfast in the battlefields in defense of Lebanon’s land and dignity, and in support of Palestine and it’s just Cause!

الجبهة الشعبية لتحرير فلسطين: اندحار الجيش الصهيوني عن أجزاء كبيرة من الأراضي اللبنانية في الخامس والعشرين من أيار عام 2000 تحول استراتيجي في تاريخ الصراع العربي– الصهيوني

اعتبرت الجبهة الشعبية لتحرير فلسطين، أن اندحار جيش العدو الصهيوني عن أجزاء كبيرة من الأراضي اللبنانية المحتلة، في الخامس والعشرين من أيار عام 2000، يعتبر إنجازًا وانتصارًا نوعيًا وتاريخيًّا وتحولاًا إستراتيجياً في تاريخ الصراع العربي- الصهيوني، وتحقق بفضل صمود وتضحيات الشعب اللبناني الشقيق ومقاومته الباسلة التي انطلقت منذ اللحظات الأولى للاجتياح الصهيوني للبنان عام 1982. تلك المقاومة التي قضَّت مضاجع الاحتلال، وألحقت به خسائر فادحة، وحطمت للأبد أسطورة (الجيش الذي لا يقهر)، وما زالت ذاكرة أهل بيروت تحتفظ بنداءات وتوسلات جيش العدو عبر مكبرات الصوت وهي تنادي في شوارع بيروت “يا أهل بيروت لا تطلقوا النار علينا نحن منسحبون”، وبالفعل اندحر جيش الاحتلال عن العاصمة بيروت خلال الأسابيع الأولى من احتلالها، لتكن تلك هي المرة الأولى التي يندحر فيها جيش الاحتلال عن أرضٍ عربيةٍ احتلها دون قيد او شرط.
وعبَّرت الجبهة عن أسمى مشاعر الوفاء والعرفان للشعب اللبناني المقاوم، الذي قدَّم ولا يزال التضحيات الجسام نصرةً لفلسطين وقضيتها، ودفاعًا عن أرضه ومقدراته وكرامته الوطنية التي تأبى الاستسلام، وقدَّم في سبيل تحقيق ذلك الآلاف من الشهداء والجرحى والمفقودين، وتحمَّل ولا يزال جرائم جيش الاحتلال، واستهدافه للشجر والبشر والحجر، بهدف فرض الهزيمة عليه والاستسلام، وثنيته عن دعم وإسناد الشعب الفلسطيني، وتوجهت الجبهة بالتحية إلى رفاق السلاح في جبهة المقاومة الوطنية اللبنانية بكل أحزابها وفصائلها، التي كان لها شرف المبادرة إلى إطلاق الرصاصات الأولى. كما توجهت بالتحية والتقدير لإخوة الخندق في حركة أمل والمقاومة الإسلامية في لبنان، الذين كان لهم شرف مواصلة المقاومة وإدامتها وتطويرها وصولاً لتحرير أجزاء واسعة من الجنوب اللبناني، وتطهيرها من دنس الاحتلال في الخامس والعشرين من أيار عام 2000 .
كما تثمن الجبهة عاليًا قيام قوى المقاومة اللبنانية، والعديد من مكونات الشعب اللبناني وقواه المقاومة، لا سيما الإخوة في حزب الله والمقاومة الإسلامية لدعمهم وإسنادهم شعبنا الفلسطيني المقاوم في قطاع غزة، والضفة الغربية، والقدس في معركة (طوفان الأقصى)، من خلال اعتبار جبهة جنوب لبنان جبهة إسناد ودعم لشعبنا ومقاومته، واعتبار شهداء معركة (طوفان الأقصى) شهداء على طريق القدس .
كما أكَّدت الجبهة ان شعبنا الفلسطيني المقاوم ومعه كل شرفاء أمتنا، وأحرار العالم لن ينسى لشعب لبنان الشقيق وقواه المقاومة دعمهم وتضامنهم مع كفاح شعبنا لا سيما أهلنا في الجنوب اللبناني والبقاع الغربي على وجه الخصوص، وأبناء القرى الأمامية الذين تحملوا وما زالوا أبشع الجرائم الصهيونية، وأشرس حملة تدمير ممنهج للقرى والبلدات اللبنانية، وجرائم الاغتيالات التي تستهدف المدنيين الآمنين، من النساء والأطفال والشيوخ، وتدمير المنازل والبنى التحتية على رؤوس ساكنيها، بهدف كسر إرادتهم، وثنيهم عن مواصله دعمهم وإسنادهم لشعبنا.
وإذ تتقدم الجبهة، بأسمى مشاعر الحزن والوفاء لعوائل الشهداء، وتتمنى الشفاء العاجل للجرحى، مؤكدةً أن النصر قادم لا محالة، وسنحتفل معًا على أرض فلسطين محررةً من دنس الاحتلال.
وختمت الجبهة، بتوجيه التهنئة والتبريك إلى لبنان الشقيق حكومةً وجيشًا وشعبًا، وإلى المقاومين الأبطال الصامدين في خنادق القتال ذودًا عن أرض لبنان وكرامته، ونصرةً لفلسطين وقضيتها العادلة.
