he spokesman for the Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement – Abu Ubaida – revealed (in his statements on Tuesday) that a few days ago, al-Qassam was about to release 12 detainees (comprised of foreign nationals), but the Zionist Occupation Forces attempted to Obstruct this humanitarian act.
Abu Ubaida announced the readiness of the Al-Qassam Brigades to release the foreign detainees, noting that the situation on the ground (and the Israeli aggression) threaten their lives and hinder this process.
On October 23rd, the Resistance in Gaza released two Israeli female prisoners captured by Hamas during Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood” – through the Rafah Border Crossing via Egyptian-Qatari mediation.
Their release came despite the fact that the Israeli enemy refused to accept the receipt of the two female prisoners – whom the Al-Qassam Brigades decided to release on humanitarian grounds and strategic purposes.
Earlier, Abu Ubaida said: “In response to Qatari efforts – two American detainees were released on humanitarian grounds,” and added: “Their timely release proves to the American people (and the world) that the claims of Biden – and his fascist Administration – are entirely false.”
Abu Ubaida had announced that the Resistance possesses a group of detainees of multiple nationalities – explaining that they were “captured during the battle, and there was no opportunity to verify their identities,” declaring that the Resistance would release its foreign prisoners “if the necessary conditions prevailed.”
Last month, Hamas indicated through the movement’s leader – Osama Hamdan – during a press conference in Lebanon, that it would not discuss the fate of Israeli Army prisoners – until Tel Aviv ended its aggression against the Gaza Strip.

كشف الناطق باسم كتائب الشهيد عز الدين القسّام، الجناح العسكري لحركة حماس، أبو عبيدة، في تصريحاتٍ له اليوم الثلاثاء إنّ القسّام كانت قبل أيام على وشك أن تفرج عن 12 محتجزاً من حملة الجنسيات الأجنبية، لكنّ الاحتلال عرقل ذلك.
وأعلن أبو عبيدة استعداد كتائب القسّام الإفراج عن المحتجزين الأجانب، مشيراً إلى أنّ الوضع الميداني والعدوان الإسرائيلي يهدد حياتهم ويعوق هذه العملية.
وأطلقت المقاومة في غزة في 23 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر الماضي سراح أسيرتين إسرائيليتين احتجزتهما حركة “حماس” في أثناء عملية “طوفان الأقصى” عبر معبر رفح الحدودي عبر وساطة مصرية قطرية.
جاء إطلاق سراحهما على الرغم من أنّ العدو الإسرائيلي رفض قبول استلام الأسيرتين اللتين قررت كتائب القسام الإفراج عنهما لدواعٍ إنسانية ومرضية.
وفي وقتٍ سابق، قال أبو عبيدة: “استجابة لجهود قطرية، تمّ إطلاق سراح محتجزتين أميركيتين لدواعٍ إنسانية”، وأضاف: “جاء إطلاق سراحهما لنُثبت للشعب الأميركي والعالم أن ادعاءات بايدن وإدارته الفاشية هي ادعاءات كاذبة”.
وكان أبو عبيدة قد أعلن أنّ المقاومة تمتلك مجموعةً مِن المُحتجزين من جنسياتٍ متعددة، موضحاً أنّه تمّ “جلبهم في أثناء المعركة، ولم تكن هناك فرصة في التحقق من هوياتهم”، معلناً أنّ المقاومة ستقوم بإطلاق سراح الأسرى الأجانب لديها “إذا توافرت الظروف اللازمة لذلك”.
والشهر الماضي، أشارت حماس على لسان القيادي في الحركة أسامة حمدان، خلال مؤتمرٍ صحافي في لبنان، إلى أنها لن تناقش مصير أسرى “الجيش” الإسرائيلي حتى تنهي “تل أبيب” عدوانها على قطاع غزة.
