The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate denounced the continued Zionist Occupation crimes against journalists and the media in Palestine during the recent self-defence operations – which has been met with escalating Zionist Occupation aggression against the Gaza Strip! This Zionist criminality has led to the martyrdom of journalists Muhammad Al-Salhi (Photographer of the “Fourth Estate” agency), and Ibrahim Lafi (Photographer for the “Ain Media” agency) – both struck by bullets fired by the Zionist Occupation Forces in the Gaza Strip! This tragedy unfolded yesterday morning, Saturday, during live coverage of developing events east of Bureij in the middle of the Gaza Strip – moving along the security fence that the Zionist Occupation Forces had illegally established east of the Strip. During Palestinian self-defence Operations, contact was lost with Nidal Al-Wahidi from the “Al-Najah” channel – and Haitham Abdel Wahed, Photographer of the “Ain Media” agency – while covering the events near the Beit Hanoun Checkpoint, north of this Gaza Strip sector.
The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate called upon the International Committee of the Red Cross to intervene in order to uncover the fate of the missing journalists, especially since the loss of contact with them came after a group of citizens were bombed near the Checkpoint while covering the events.
The Syndicate indicated that fellow journalist Ibrahim Qanan, Correspondent for Al-Ghad Channel, was injured by shrapnel from a missile that targeted Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, and colleague Salah Abu Salah was injured by shrapnel from shelling east of Abasan, with colleague Saleh Al-Masry and his wife were injured during a bombing in Gaza City. The home of the Journalist and Director of Zaman Radio was targeted. Rami Al-Sharafi’s house was completely bombed, and the house of “Al-Quds Today” Channel broadcaster – Basil Khair Al-Din – was destroyed, in addition to the complete or partial destruction of other media institutions!
The Syndicate renewed its demand for the necessity of providing stronger protection for Journalists and Press Institutions in Palestine from the Zionist Occupation’s attacks and unprovoked war – especially since the Zionist policy of destruction and liquidation has become a systematic and routine approach committed against Journalists and Press Institutions!
At the conclusion of the Statement, the Syndicate stressed that the Leader of the Zionist Occupation – and their evasion of all responsibility for the War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity committed by Israeli against Journalists and media outlets in Palestine – serves to encourage the intensity and continuation of the brutality of the Zionist Occupation! This Israeli contempt for International Law is happening now in Palestine and Jerusalem, the capital! The thousands of criminal cases waiting to be lodged against Israelis must be allowed to be processed by the International Court! The investigation into the cases concerning Sherine Abu Aqla, Ahmed Abu Hussein and Yasser Murtaji continues – in order to form a real legal deterrent to the Israeli Occupation!

نقابة الصحفيين تستنكر اغتيال الزميلين الصالحي ولافي وقصف المؤسسات الصحفية

استنكرت نقابة الصحفيين الفلسطينيين استمرار جرائم الاحتلال بحق الصحفيين ووسائل الإعلام في فلسطين خلال التصعيد الأخير والعدوان الاحتلالي المتصاعد على قطاع غزة، والذي أدى إلى استشهاد الصحافيين محمد الصالحي مصور وكالة “السلطة الرابعة” وإبراهيم لافي مصور وكالة “عين ميديا” برصاص قوات الاحتلال في قطاع غزة صباح يوم أمس السبت خلال تغطية الأحداث شرق البريج وسط قطاع غزة على السياج الأمني الذي اقامته قوات الاحتلال شرق القطاع، فيما فقد الاتصال بالزميلين نضال الوحيدي من قناة “النجاح” وهيثم عبد الواحد مصور وكالة “عين ميديا” خلال تغطية الأحداث قرب حاجز بيت حانون شمال القطاع.
ودعت نقابة الصحفيين الفلسطينيين اللجنة الدولية للصليب الاحمر بضرورة التدخل من أجل الكشف عن مصير الصحفيين المفقودين ، خاصة أن انقطاع الاتصال بهما جاء بعد تعرض مجموعة من المواطنين للقصف قرب الحاجز خلال تغطية الأحداث .
واشارت النقابة إلى إصابة الزميل الصحفي إبراهيم قنن مراسل قناة “الغد” بشظايا صاروخ استهدف مستشفى ناصر في خانيونس جنوب قطاع غزة، والزميل صلاح ابو صلاح بشظايا القصف شرق عبسان، والزميل صالح المصري وزوجته خلال قصف بمدينة غزة، وتعرض منزل مدير إذاعة “زمن” الصحفي رامي الشرافي لقصف منزله بالكامل، كما تم تدمير منزل مذيع قناة ” القدس اليوم” باسل خير الدين، فضلاً عما طال بعض المؤسسات الإعلامية من تدمير كامل أو جزئي ومنها: مقر صحيفة “الأيام” ، مؤسسة “فضل شناعة”، وكالة “شهاب”، اذاعة “غزة Fm” في برج فلسطين كما تعرض مقر وكالة معا الاخبارية للتدمير خلال تدمير برج وطن بشارع الجلاء.
وجددت النقابة المطالبة بضرورة توفير الحماية للصحفيين والمؤسسات الصحفية من اعتداءات وحرب الاحتلال ، خاصة أن سياسية التدمير والتصفية باتت سياسة ممنهجة يرتكبها الاحتلال بحق الصحفيين والمؤسسات الصحفية.
وأكدت في ختام بيانها أن إفلات قادة الاحتلال من جميع الجرائم والانتهاكات الاسرائيلية ضد الصحافيين ووسائل الاعلام في فلسطين هو الذي شجع الاحتلال على الإمعان والتصعيد في ارتكابه المزيد منها، كما يجري في فلسطين والقدس العاصمة ، ما يستدعي بضرورة التحرك العاجل والمضي في الاجراءات المتبعة في المحكمة الدولية واستمرار التحقيق في قضية الزميلة شيرين أبو عاقلة والزملاء أحمد أبو حسين وياسر مرتجي، من أجل تشكيل رادع حقيقي للاحتلال الاسرائيلي.
