President Putin: Learning from Mao Zedong is an Unavoidable Mission

Translator’s Note: The above article was inspired by President Putin’s positive references to the Communist Chinese leader Mao Zedong, particularly in the area of standing-up to a despotic West (led by the neo-imperialist USA). Many people ascribe numerous utterances to Putin, (some in favour of Socialism, some opposed), but his praise for Mao Zedong is well-known. Putin was himself born in the USSR and rose through the ranks of the military and the KGB. His ability to withstand the US rhetorical attacks appears to come from a mind operating ‘the right way around’ – as is the case with anyone who has undergone a Marxist education. Of course, the US false (Cold War) propaganda offensive marks all Socialist States as despotic, and all Socialist leaders as tyrants and mass murderers – but Putin knows otherwise, as does anyone with a modicum of progressive education. Mao Zedong is the perfect image of the independent spirit of modern China. He stood-up to the tyranny of US hegemony (referring to the Americans as ‘paper tigers’), and secured a bright future for the Chinese people. President Putin, although not in control of a Socialist country, nevertheless has had to confront and neutralise the continuous rhetorical and military threats posed by the US, and not allow the situation to descend into open warfare. Despite extreme US (NATO) aggression against Russia and her sovereign borders, President Putin has been able to successfully retain the peace within circumstances of extreme provocation. How has President Putin been able to do this?

President Putin said:

‘Many people now fear the United States, but neither I (nor the Russian people) subscribe to this fear. My view is that the ridiculous little US lap-dogs make lots of noise, but they lack the ability to back it up. When US leaders with no dignity or virtue are elected into office, the US is sullied as a nation. This debilitating internal process weakens the US on the external international stage. The US would do well to study the virtuous thinking of Mao Zedong, as he gave China her dignity back. In fact, under the expert leadership of Mao Zedong, the Chinese people were able to ‘stand-up’! It is through the work of ao Zedong that I learned to counter US hegemony in the world. Just as Mao Zedong stood-up to the tyrannical West, I too have stood up to the tyrannical West. Just as Mao Zedong is vilified by the tyrannical West, I too am vilified by the tyrannical West. This is why I can state with absolute certainty that Mao Zedong is my hero and role model.’

President Putin: Quoted from the article entitled ‘Beyond Putin: Studying Mao Zedong is the Unavoidable Mission of Contemporary Chinese Leaders’ (超越普京,学习毛泽东,是中国当代领袖不容回避的使命)

History has proven that for Khrushchev, who pursued appeasement and capitulationism with the United States, and later Gorbachev, who consciously or unconsciously acted as the scapegoat for the United States by peacefully dismantling the Soviet Union and destroying it from the inside. How could these kinds of corrupt characters with such destructive and stupid minds be the qualified as leaders of the great Socialist countries?

What conditions are required to serve as a qualified leader of China, a great socialist country? A leader must be a true Marxist-Leninist, and be a warrior in thought and action just like Mao Zedong. This excludes revisionists like Khrushchev and Gorbachev who only ever paid lip-service to Marxist-Leninism. Such great leaders must be Revolutionaries who wholeheartedly serve the vast majority of people in China and the world. They cannot serve the interests of a handful of bourgeois privileged people in the country like Khrushchev and Gorbachev did. Or serve the interests of the hegemonic reactionaries in the United States.

Great Socialist leaders must be Revolutionary and heroic politicians who can unite the overwhelming majority of the Chinese people and lead them to work together, fight bravely, and fight against US (capitalist) hegemony for China’s independence, sovereignty, and security. Their ideology should be firm and thorough. Their spirit should be noble and courageous. Their actions prudent and determined. They should be particularly vigilant and possess no personal ambitions. Conspirators like Khrushchev and Gorbachev must be prevented from usurping power at all levels of the Party and the country. True leaders must be exemplary executors of the Party’s democratic centralism. They must develop a democratic style that is good at listening to the opinions of the masses. They cannot, like Khrushchev, undermine the Party’s democratic centralism, exercise arbitrary control, and exercise personal dictatorship.

China’s Socialist leaders must be virtuous and dignified. They must not be self-serving, and should thoroughly study the Collected Works of Mao Zedong. Such people should be experts in Mao Zedong Thought and never deviate from its Socialist direction. Learn from the past and eradicate errors by not repeating them. This process ensures the purification of the nation and its leaders. Socialism must be peacefully developed without allowing the US to hijack and divert this process. The lives of the people must be continuously improved through the correct application of Mao Zedong Thought – which is Scientific Socialism relevant for the Chinese nation. This is how Mao Zedong Thought can defeat US hegemony and ensure China’s independence and continued Socialist development.
