The Australian Eureka Organization held a dinner party on the occasion of May 1st (Labour Day – 2024) in the Greek Community Hall in Sydney (it is a progressive organization, the majority of which is of Greek origin, concerned with defending the rights of the working class and small producers – and confronting the waves of exploitation that do not stop under the capitalist plundering system – especially the costs of daily living). In addition to members of the Greek community, delegations from the Iraqi, Palestinian, Lebanese and Iranian communities attended.
Speeches were delivered that included praise for the global labour struggle, a call to intensify the struggle to overcome the crises that the working class and popular classes are suffering from, and a call to achieve their unity to achieve their demands. Most of the speeches also focused on the programmed destruction that the Palestinians and the Gaza Strip are going through, with an explicit call to stop the genocide operations that are being applied to the population of the Gaza Strip, and asks governments to stop military, material and logistical support for the Zionist regime.
The Eureka representative opened the speech by explaining the State’s practices, highlighting the crises that its economic and political approach has produced, pointing out the problems that resulted from it, especially the economic depression and the high cost of living, which workers pay from their savings and from their comfort and the comfort of their families. He concluded that dependency on imperialism in general – and America in particular – had taken its toll on Australia. Thus, there was a waste of taxpayer money by spending it on armaments and indulging in the American approach, which placed Australia on one side of the alliance policy at a time when Australia was one of the countries that rarely forged good neighbourly relations with everyone in the South Pacific. The speaker made a direct appeal to the Australian government to stop supporting the Zionist entity. In all its forms.
Comrade Abdel Majeed Hijazi also spoke on behalf of the Lebanese Communist Party. He greeted the international working class on its holiday and congratulated the attendees, wishing that when the next Labour Day arrives – the situation of the working class and its homelands will be in a better condition than it is today. He moved directly to the Palestinian issue and the suffering of the Palestinians, explaining the Zionist crime, its methods and its deception aimed at causing the largest possible number of victims, pointing to what humanity has never known of a similar war of extermination throughout history, where in less than two hundred days about 35,000 martyrs fell, including 18,000 children and 10,000 women, in addition to the wounding of more than 80,000 wounded, and the killing is still continuing. He also referred to the displacement of one million and two hundred thousand immigrants who were crowded into Rafah, which the Zionists are threatening to invade with the aim of displacing them outside the borders.
However, the legendary Palestinian steadfastness has thwarted these Zionist plans to this day and prevented them from achieving any victory other than killing and destruction, an act of barbarity which has been reflected positively in the entire world media! Despite this, people all over the world are discovering the falsehood of the Zionist claims and its lies, and its criminal and anti-humanity contempt! Comrade Hijazi ended by submitting a proposal for a 6-point petition to the members of the United Nations and its secretary. He presented it to Eureka and it was adopted and drafted. He thanked Eureka for adopting it and then it was signed by the audience.
Then the speech of the representative of the Palestinian People’s Party, Comrade Shamekh Badra, had a direct impact on the audience, who addressed the history of suffering as a result of the attacks of the Zionist enemy, and when he spoke about the tragedies that his family had been exposed to in the Gaza Strip – as well as the rest of its people – which led to the loss of a large number of due to bombing and targeting of hospitals and medical teams. الشيوعي اللبناني في أستراليا مشاركاً في مهرجان الأول من أيّار في سيدني: مليون ومائتي ألف مهددون بالتهجير القسري من رفح
أقامت منظمة يوريكا الأسترالية حفل عشاء لمناسبة الأول من أيار وذلك في قاعة الجالية اليونانية في سيدني (وهي منظمة تقدمية بغالبيتها من أصول يونانية تهتم بالدفاع عن حقوق الطبقة العاملة وصغار المنتجين وتواجه موجات الاستغلال التي لا تتوقف بظل نظام النهب الرأسمالي لا سيما منها تكاليف المعيشة اليومية).
حضر إلى جانب أبناء الجالية اليونانية وفود من الجاليات العراقية والفلسطينية واللبنانية والإيرانية. ألقيت كلمات تضمنت الإشادة بالنضال العمالي العالمي، والدعوة لتشديد النضال لتجاوز الأزمات التي تعاني منها الطبقة العاملة والطبقات الشعبية، والدعوة لتحقيق وحدتها لتحقيق مطالبها، كما ركزت معظم الكلمات على ما يمر به الفلسطينيون وقطاع غزة من دمار مبرمج، مع الدعوة الصريحة لإيقاف عمليات الإبادة التي يتعرض لها سكان قطاع غزة، والطلب من الحكومات إيقاف الدعم العسكري والمادي واللوجستي للنظام الصهيوني.
افتتح ممثل يوريكا الكلمات مشرحاً ممارسات الدولة مبرزاً الأزمات التي أنتجها نهجها الاقتصادي والسياسي مبيناً المشاكل التي تأتت عليها لاسيما الكساد الاقتصادي وارتفاع كلفة المعيشة والتي يدفعها العمال من مدخراتهم ومن راحتهم وراحة عائلاتهم ، وخلص إلى الاستنتاج بان التبعية للإمبريالية بشكل عام والاميركية بشكل خاص وضع أوزاره على استراليا ، فجاء هدر مال دافعي الضرائب بصرفها على التسلح والانغماس بالنهج الاميركي الذي وضع أستراليا في جانب من سياسة الأحلاف في وقت كانت فيه أستراليا من البلدان التي ندرت بنسج علاقات حسن الجوار مع الجميع في جنوبي الباسفيكي وقد وجه المتحدث نداءً مباشراً للحكومة الأسترالية بوقف الدعم عن الكيان الصهيوني بكافة أشكاله.
كما تحدّث الرفيق عبد المجيد حجازي باسم الحزب الشيوعي اللبناني، فحيا الطبقة العاملة العالمية بعيدها ووجه التهاني للحضور متمنياً ان يأتي عيد العمال القادم ووضع الطبقة العاملة وأوطانها بأفضل حال عما عليها اليوم، وانتقل مباشرة إلى القضية الفلسطينية ومعاناة الفلسطينيين مشرحاً الإجرام الصهيوني وأساليبه وخداعه الهادف إلى إيقاع اكبر عدد ممكن من الضحايا مشيراً إلى مالم تعرفه البشرية من حرب إبادة مماثلة عبر التاريخ حيث سقط باقل من مئتي يوم حوالي ٣٥ الف شهيد من بينها ١٨ الف طفل و١٠ آلاف امرأة اضافة لجرح ما يزيد عن ٨٠ الف جريح ومازال القتل مستمراً. كما اشار إلى تهجير مليون ومئتي ألف مهجر حشروا برفح التي يتهددها الصهيوني بالاجتياح بغاية تهجيرهم خارج الحدود، غير ان الصمود الفلسطيني الأسطوري أفشل خططه حتى اليوم ومنع عليه تحقيق اي انتصار سوى القتل والتدمير والذي انعكس ايجاباً في العالم اجمع حيث اكتشف الناس في طول العالم وعرضه زيف الادعاء الصهيوني وكذبه واكتشفوا حقيقته الاجرامية المعادية للإنسانية. وقد أنتهى الرفيق حجازي إلى تقديم اقتراح بتوجيه عريضة من ٦ نقاط وخاتمة إلى اعضاء الامم المتحدة وسكرتيرها قد عرضها على يوريكا وتبنتها وصاغتها وقد شكرها على التبني ثم وقعت من الحضور.
ثم كان لكلمة ممثل حزب الشعب الفلسطيني الرفيق شامخ بدرا تأثيراً مباشرا على الحضور الذي تناول تاريخية المعاناة نتيجة اعتداءات العدو الصهيوني وحين تحدث عما تعرضت له عائلته في قطاع غزة -كما بقية شعبها- من مآسي أدت إلى فقدان عدد كبير منهم بسبب القصف واستهداف المشافي والفرق الطبية إلى التجويع والحصار. وقد قوطعت كلمة الرفيق شامخ بالتصفيق عندما قفز فوق جرحه مؤكداً ان تلك الجراح العميقة لن توقف مقاومتنا للعدو ولن تثنينا عن السعي لتحقيق عودتنا وطرد العدو المحتل وتحقيق التحرير كاملاً.
وأعطيت الكلمة بعده للرفيق احمد ممثلاً الحزب الشيوعي الايراني والذي تلا بيان الحزب الصادر بمناسبة الاول من ايار مؤكداً وقوف الحزب إلى جانب نضال الشعب الفلسطيني
