The Science of Epigenetics Verses the Pseudo-Science of Epigenetics! (4.3.2018)

This is not an attack on religion or a denial that belief systems are useful for human existence. On the contrary, what follows is a short and concise explanation of a very complex biological process which strives to identify the subject of epigenetics as a material or ‘hard’ science, and epigenetics as a belief system. When epigenetics is interpreted as a belief system (and consequently serves the function of a religion) it still presents its ideas in the language of science, when the underlying ideology is one of theology. The battle occurs because religious epigenetics insists upon being interpreted as a ‘science’. This insistence by a religious movement to be seen as a science attracts the descriptive label ‘pseudo-science’, which we use here, but with no intended disrespect. Although we advocate a continuous search for good knowledge and self-understanding, everyone has the right to decide for themselves and make their own minds up. As practitioners of Chinese Buddhism, we confirm that meditation practise has a positive affect upon the health of the mind and body, but we do not assert that the mind ‘interferes’ with natural biological processes. Instead, it seems clear to us that a proper scientific understanding of biological processes enables the mind to ‘assist’ by making good and informed choices in life that aid the natural biological processes unfold in a positive manner. This is more a matter of not ‘getting in the way’ of naturally unfolding processes, rather than entertaining the mistaken notion that the mind can interfere in these natural processes. This is just our ideas – think for yourselves.

Invalidation of the Worker Part II - 2017

Invalidation of the Worker – Part II (4.12.2017)

My original article entitled The Invalidation of the Worker – A Study of Disability in Capitalist Society was published in October, 2013. It is logical to assume that as ‘Austerity’ has continued unabated, thousands of disabled who were alive to read it then, are nolonger with us now. The proliferation of articles that over-simplify and misrepresent ‘disability’ are common place within bourgeois society. Most miss the vital point of economic exclusion, and focus instead upon misguided notions of bourgeois individuality – making such puerile statements as ‘if only disabled people were viewed as individuals and not their disabilities’, or ‘disabled people should not be viewed as dysfunctional able-bodied’, and so on and so forth. It is not that there is no truth to statements such as these, but that this kind of narrative is entirely bourgeois in nature, and as such, does not address the central reality of economic exclusion. Why should a person with a disability be categorised as ‘disabled’, when ‘able-bodied’ people are only referred to in that manner, within a temporary discourse which distinguishes the non-disabled from the disabled (privileging the former and disempowering the latter). In reality this situation is a matter of Marxist-Leninist critique, and involves the exclusion of the disabled community not only from bourgeois society, but also from proletariat society.

The Chinese Anti-Falun Gong Cult World Alliance Welcomes Westerners

When Falun Gong cult members ‘escape’ the clutches of Li Hongzhi, the Communist Party of China (CPC) guarantees their rights and will make every effort to provide medical care and psychological healing. This has always been the case. However, as hundreds of former Falun Gong cult members have been rehabilitated, the Falun Gong operating out of the US falsely claims that these individuals have been ‘tortured’, ‘imprisoned’ and even ‘killed’. The further lie is that organs are stolen from dead bodies. Even a slight understanding of medical knowledge states that organs taken from dead bodies are no good for transplant, and are medically worthless. Communist China encourages Chinese citizens to ‘donate’ their organs when ‘near’ death to save the lives of other people who need transplants, if they should choose to do so. So many citizens do this as a matter of course, that Communist China has no need to ‘harvest’ organs from the bodies of executed criminals. One person who the Falun Gong cult claimed to have been killed (and their organs harvested), is ‘Yang Jun’ (杨俊) from Chongqing, who was supposedly beaten to death at just 18 years old. In fact, Yang Jun escape from the Falun Gong cult (like hundreds of others), and now lives a happy and normal life in China. Yang Jun’s mother has gone on record stating that her son is very happy and glad to be ‘free’ of the terrible Falun Gong cult. Together, the world community can wipe-out the Falun Gong cult, so that its victims can be saved, and its leaders tried for Crimes Against Humanity and imprisoned.
