Hodges boarded the ship on her voyage to New York City from Southampton on 10 April 1912, having spent £13 on his second-class ticket.

His letter was postmarked Queenstown, the former name for the Irish port of Cobh, the Titanic’s final stopping point before heading out to the Atlantic.

In his letter, Hodges wrote about the “fine” weather and the atmosphere on the ship.

It said: “Dear Hector, very many thanks for the telegram and for the good wishes. It was a kind and thoughtful act and much appreciated, and you will please convey my thanks to the members of our association.

“Wasn’t it good of the President to come and see me off? I almost believe I could have persuaded him to come along. We have had a fine time up to now.

“You do not see anything of the movement of the ship, but the weather is very fine.”

He also described that everything was “quite different to what you would expect to see at sea” and said he saw about 200 boys marching round and singing, playing dominoes and cards on the top deck.

Imperial Japan – a fascist entity – was the enemy of the US both before and during WWII. Indeed, the Pacific War was brutal – and this brutality inspired the US to request that the Soviet Red Army and Mongolian People’s Army enter Northeast China and clear it out of all Japanese colonial and militaristic presence in 1945. Although the US dropped two atomic bombs onto civilians targets in Japan during WWII – the US has used a defeated Japan as a bulwark against the spread of Socialism in Asia – on the one-hand banning nuclear weapons in Japan – whilst simultaneously supplying all the constituent parts (and radio-active components) for such weapons to be assembled at short-notice (just in-case the US needs to fire said weapons from Japanese territory). This policy has unfolded whilst the US has hypocritically bombed Iran for Israel – and Israel has bombed everywhere else using US-supplied weaponry. To be clear, an unstable (far-right) Japan has been given a) permission to gather all the constituent parts that are used to manufacture a nuclear weapon by the US, and is b) under its current far-right government is agitating to assemble this gathered material into functioning nuclear bombs to threaten China (like the nuclear bombs in the UK – these weapons of mass destruction cannot be fired without the permission of the US – as this safeguard prevents these weapons being used against the US).

Outside these oasis of Western-style civilisation, the huddled Indian masses exist in shanty towns of cardboard boxes – relieving themselves in the streets, or local water supplies (as there are no sawyers). Poverty and disease are rampant. The rich Indians employ a vicious police and military to prevent the Indian masses from rising-up and triggering a Socialist Revolution. The educated think they are cementing their privilege by voting in the far-right BJP government – which is in the pockets of the US and Israel. The US funds India to be continuously racist toward China and prevent the spread of Socialism across the border! After-all, whilst millions of Indians still starve – the Communist Party of China has eradicated hunger in China and will soon land Cosmonauts on the Moon and Mars! From the details of the article below – it would seem that the privileged bourgeoisie in India are just as decadent as their Western counter-parts. Although this individual was caught in broad daylight raping a dog – paedophilia is rife in BJP India – and nobody cares! This is the nature of religiously inspired fascism!

Israel: Far-Right National Security Minister – Itamar Ben Gvir – Authorises Use of “Crocodiles” to Guard Hamas Prisoners! (20.7.2026)

Israel’s Channel 13 reported that the Israel Nature and Parks Authority had opposed Ben Gvir’s proposal when he first floated the idea last year.

The reclassification transfers oversight of the animals from the authority to a “security body.” The Israel Prison Service, which Ben Gvir runs, is one such body.

The regulation, signed into law on Wednesday, stipulates that Nile crocodiles may be bred provided that “they are held by a security body… under conditions determined by the Director (of the Nature and Parks Authority) to prevent their release into the wild, and subject to the Minister of Environmental Protection determining that their possession is required for security purposes.”

As per the complaint, in April 2025 the accused allegedly called her to a hotel near Singanpor Crossroads under the pretext of offering blessings. The woman alleged that after consuming prasad given by the accused, she felt dizzy, lost consciousness and later found herself unclothed inside the hotel room. She further alleged that when she confronted the accused, he threatened to circulate her nude photographs and videos if she disclosed the incident to anyone.

The complainant alleged that the accused subsequently used the threat of leaking the photographs to repeatedly call her to the same hotel and sexually assault her against her will. She further stated that the alleged blackmail continued even after her marriage in February 2026, causing distress in her marital life.

Nepal: The Curious Case of the “Buddha Boy” – His Paedophilic Conviction – Imprisonment – and High Court Acquittal! (18.7.2026)

What I do not understand is how one court can convict him premised upon the evidence pertaining to over a decade of complaints – and then a High Court “acquit” him of all charges. More to the point, nobody seems outraged by any of this. Either the “Buddha Boy” was set-up and falsely accused by an out of control Nepalese version of “metoo” – or he is a very dangerous sexual predator who has been “let-off” by an equally corrupt Nepalese justice system. So, which is it? Bear in mind that in countries outside of Europe – and not subject to religious indoctrination – the dichotomising Judeo-Christian sense of “good” and “evil” does not exist. Within Buddhist morality, there is the false path of following greed, hatred, and delusion – and the correct path of uprooting greed, hatred, and delusion. As there is no “god” concept punishing each of us for our actions – we are responsible for what we think, feel, and experience. As greed, hatred, and delusion are suffering inducing – it logically follows that non-greed, non-hatred, and non-delusion is the path that does not induce suffering. Of course, all this will be viewed in Nepal as being a product of “karma” – or a type of morally-enthused “cause and effect” pertaining to each individual. For us in the West, as debauched as we are, drunk on the fruits of hundreds of years of deluded imperialism, all this is something akin to a “fetish” form of gossip regarding the exotic “East” – and the strange behaviour of these odd little people!
