A Theravada Buddhist Monk in the Ruins of “Wat Phu (ວັດພູ)”!

Buddhist-Socialist Laos: “Wat Phu (ວັດພູ)” – An Example of a Khmer-Era Buddhist-Hindu Temple! (6.8.2026)

The stone walls are carved with mythological scenes such as (the Hindu) Hanuman monkey-god fighting demons and Gisna tearing apart the Dragon King. Inside the hall are numerous Buddha statues and a stone statue of King Phayakamata of Champasak. The site area preserves the foundations of two stone palaces, scattered stone figures and beasts, and a sacred lake measuring 300 metres by 200 metres. The lakeside pavilion in the centre connects with the ruins of the Western Hall. The temple is said to have been built in the 7th century, with most existing ruins dating back to the 10th-century – during the peak period of the Khmer Empire. Every year from late January to early February, the Wat Phu Festival is held, featuring various religious ceremonies and activities.

However, we decided to just turn-up at the UNITE double-decker bus (I was a member of that union at the time) – and see if we could blag our way through – and blag we did. If we had not taken direct action – Gee is very gay-friendly and the crowd took to her – we would not have been able to attend. I think the fact we are mixed-race couple acted as camouflaged for our presence (everyone thought someone had okayed it previously). As a straight couple – we were not permitted on the bus by the lesbians who occupied and controlled it. At one point, I was kissed by a gay Asian man – which was not traumatising to me at all. He asked Gee’s permission first. Later, as a straight, mixed couple, with mixed kids, the gay and trans people that sat in and around London landmarks with us – looked at us with such love that I cannot deny the experience. I am not telling you how to think – indeed – I would advise thinking for yourself by reading all the evidence and weighing things-up. As workers living in a capitalist society – we are already oppressed. Granting (or withholding) access to toilets will not change that – even if it might be seen as “progressive” and a “movement in the right direction”. A genuine Red Army soldier fights to defeat capitalism and fascism for ALL people – not just those the bourgeoise establishment decide are acceptable or persona non grata.

PRC Buddhism is Socialist!

As the Mahayana Sutras became more popular in China than the Pali Suttas – the idea of strict vegetarianism (which had spread from India via various Vinaya Discipline texts) took root (even though it was only meant initially for the monastic order). Buddhist vegetarianism was not invented in China (as the author of the below [translated] text seems to imply). It is true that at least two Emperors in China did ban meat-eating in their respective countries – and instigated an expansive vegetarianism amongst the general public (Buddhist and non-Buddhist). This meant that Buddhist monastic vegetarianism was spread throughout the Buddhist laity and beyond – and this was a transformation of Buddhist practice in general that has persisted into modern times. Much, if not all of the interfacing Chinese philosophy that at least gave structure to Chinese Ch’an (Dhyana) Buddhism arose from the “Change Classic”

USSR: Modern Russians Lying About Soviet Russia – It’s the Hula-Hoop All-Over Again! (2.8.2026)

Years later, I learned that at least Republics of the USSR were “Buddhist” and of various ethnicities (including “Tibetan”). More to the point, the 1936 Soviet Constitution guaranteed racial equality for a) everyone born in the USSR, and b) for everyone visiting the USSR. Even today, I am often mistaken for “Russian” of the Soviet-era – as this explains my “Chinese” partner. This often happens in and around the Soviet War Memorial in London. Modern Russian people, at least those in the pay of the US, should stop lying about the glorious past that is the USSR. It was – and still remains – the US (not Russia or the USSR) that is the most racist country on earth. Even their Black President Obama instigated Neo-Nazism in Ukraine – destroying the Slavic people both sides of the divide. I wish young Russians would think about what they are writing – about the false narratives they are buying into. This is why I have carried-out a lot of translation work for the Communist Parties of Lugansk and Donetsk – as that is my ideological doorway into modern Russia. Of course, I am not Russian – and do not pretend to be. I am a Sinotised Celt – and that’s about it. I value historical truth other disinformation. The world could learn much under a USSR under Lenin and Stalin. After-all, 41 million Soviets were killed and wounded assisting the UK as allies during WWII.

China: Former Shaolin Head Monk – Shi Yongxin – Recent Developments! (28.7.2026)

The Shaolin Temple was founded by visiting Indian monks to China long before Bodhidharma arrived (in 528 CE), Sitting and clearing the mind has always been the primary skill. However, many other temples and spiritual centres also combine seated meditation with “moving” meditation in the form of martial endeavour (it is even hinted at in the Book of Change). Although the Shaolin Temple is famous – it is in no way the only place martial arts are practiced for health and self-defence. Master Xu Yun changed the law in China by integrating the Vinaya Discipline with Chinese Secular Law. Failing to uphold the Vinaya Discipline is tantamount to breaking the law. What is happening to the former Head Monk of Shaolin – Shi Yongxin – is entirely due to the legal reforms that Xu Yun initiated in the early 1950s as a means to protect China from going down the Japanese path of abandoning the upholding of the Vinaya Discipline. India is a filthy, backward country – with large swathes of the country still existing within feudalism where no capitalist economy has developed. People still live by traditional culture and barter. The minority rich, mimicking their Western counter-parts, live in purpose-built gated communities that possess every luxury – protected by heavily armed private armies. Outside these oasis of Western-style civilisation, the huddled Indian masses exist in shanty towns of cardboard boxes – relieving themselves in the streets, or local water supplies (as there are no sawyers). Poverty and disease are rampant. The rich Indians employ a vicious police and military to prevent the Indian masses from rising-up and triggering a Socialist Revolution. The educated think they are cementing their privilege by voting in the far-right BJP government – which is in the pockets of the US and Israel. The US funds India to be continuously racist toward China and prevent the spread of Socialism across the border! After-all, whilst millions of Indians still starve – the Communist Party of China has eradicated hunger in China and will soon land Cosmonauts on the Moon and Mars! From the details of the article below – it would seem that the privileged bourgeoisie in India are just as decadent as their Western counter-parts. Although this individual was caught in broad daylight raping a dog – paedophilia is rife in BJP India – and nobody cares! This is the nature of religiously inspired fascism!
