My grandfather landed in the first wave on Normandy today – 81-years ago – during the D-Day Landings. His Unit was wiped out in a matter of minutes – but he managed to survive – moving through the hedgerows of France. He had to fight the Vichy French, the Nazi Germans and their despicable allies. His best friend was shot in the head and his body kept on running for a few feet before finally collapsing. The German soldier was aiming at my grandfather – before his friend ran in front of him – as part of the advance. My grandfather fought against fascism – but today the UK is over-run with home-grown fascists, Neo-Nazis, and White Supremacists – as the government tells us to support Neo-Nazi Ukraine and Zionist Israel. Out of respect for the memory of my brave grandfather – I refuse to do neither. This is how I choose to use the freedom my grandfather earned for me on D-Day!
