France Arrests Palestinian Activist – Maryam Abu Daqqa – After approving Deportation! (10.11.2023)

Palestinian activist – Maryam Abu Daqqa – was arrested on Wednesday night in the French capital, Paris, hours after her Deportation was approved, according to what Agence France-Presse learned from Police sources – and her lawyer.

Yesterday, Wednesday, the French Council of State gave the green light to Deport the leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, which Israel and the European Union classify as a “terrorist.” Thus, the country’s highest administrative judicial authority in France cancelled a previous decision issued by the Administrative Court in Paris – suspending the Deportation Order for Abu Daqqa -issued by the Ministry for the Interior last October.

Her lawyer, Julie Gunedek, told Agence France-Presse that “Abu Daqqa” was arrested and placed under “Administrative Detention,” explaining that the activist will now be placed under House Arrest or in a Detention Centre. “We will appeal the decision,” she added.

Gunedek added that Abu Daqqa already booked a return-ticket to Egypt for November 11th – noting that this Reservation has been in place for two months – that is, before her arrival in France.

Abu Daqqa “will return (after Egypt) to her home and family in Gaza” – according to what the radical left-wing “New Anti-Capitalist Party” reported in a statement denouncing the decision to Deport the Palestinian Activist.

It is noteworthy that Abu Daqqa said in a Press Conference the day before yesterday, (Tuesday), that “we are supposed to die without suffering and without expressing this pain,” – against the backdrop of the ongoing Israeli War on the Gaza Strip since October 7th last.

Abu Daqqa, 71 years old, obtained an Entry Visa to France (for 50 days), whilst in Jerusalem at the beginning of last August, in order to go to France, where she was scheduled to participate in various Conferences on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Abu Daqqa arrived in France last September, and participated in two Conferences despite the restrictions imposed on her after campaigns aimed at banning her public activity. She also participated in a movement to release George Ibrahim Abdullah – the Lebanese Detainee – held in French prisons over the last 40 years.

On October 16th, Abu Daqqa was arrested in the city of Marseille, Southern France, before heading to the city of Toulouse – based on an Order from Interior Minister Girald Darmanin – with the intention that Abu Daqqa be Deported.

فرنسا توقف المناضلة الفلسطينية مريم أبو دقّة بعد التصديق على ترحيلها

أُوقفت المناضلة الفلسطينية مريم أبو دقّة، ليل الأربعاء الخميس، في العاصمة الفرنسية باريس، بعد ساعات من التصديق على ترحيلها، بحسب ما علمت وكالة فرانس برس من مصادر في الشرطة ومحاميتها.
وكان مجلس الدولة الفرنسي قد أعطى الضوء الأخضر، أمس الأربعاء، لترحيل القيادية في الجبهة الشعبية لتحرير فلسطين التي تصنّفها إسرائيل والاتحاد الأوروبي “إرهابية”. وبذلك ألغت أعلى سلطة قضائية إدارية في البلاد في فرنسا قراراً سابقاً أصدرته المحكمة الإدارية في باريس يقضي بتعليق أمر ترحيل أبو دقّة الصادر عن وزارة الداخلية في أكتوبر/ تشرين الأول الماضي.
وقالت محاميتها جولي غونيديك لوكالة فرانس برس إنّ “أبو دقّة” أُوقفت ووُضعت تحت نظام “الاعتقال الإداري”، موضحة أنّ المناضلة سوف تُوضَع الآن قيد الإقامة الجبرية أو في مركز احتجاز. أضافت: “سوف نطعن في القرار”.
وتابعت غونيديك أنّ لدى أبو دقّة تذكرة سفر محجوزة للعودة إلى مصر، بتاريخ 11 نوفمبر/ تشرين الثاني الجاري، علماً أنّ الحجز قائم منذ شهرَين، أي قبل وصولها إلى فرنسا.
وأبو دقّة كانت “سوف تعود (بعد مصر) إلى منزلها وعائلتها في غزة”، وفقاً لما أفاد به “الحزب الجديد المناهض للرأسمالية” اليساري الراديكالي في بيان مندّد بقرار ترحيل المناضلة الفلسطينية.
وفي قراره الصادر أمس، ربط مجلس الدولة الفرنسي قرار ترحيل أبو دقّة بالوضع الحالي في قطاع غزة، وأفاد بأنّ “وجود قيادية في منظمة تبنّت هجمات ضدّ مدنيين إسرائيليين على الأراضي الفرنسية (اليوم)، بهدف التعبير (عن الرأي) حول النزاع الإسرائيلي-الفلسطيني، قد يثير اضطرابات خطرة في النظام العام”.
يُذكر أنّ “أبو دقّة” قالت في مؤتمر صحافي، أوّل من أمس الثلاثاء، إنّه “من المفترض أن نموت من دون أن نتألم ومن دون أن نعبّر عن هذا الألم”، وذلك على خلفيّة الحرب الإسرائيلية المتواصلة على قطاع غزة منذ السابع من أكتوبر الماضي.
وكانت أبو دقّة، البالغة من العمر 71 عاماً، قد حصلت على تأشيرة دخول إلى فرنسا لمدّة 50 يوماً، في القدس، في بداية أغسطس/ آب الماضي، من أجل التوجّه إلى فرنسا حيث كان من المقرّر أن تشارك في مؤتمرات مختلفة حول النزاع الإسرائيلي-الفلسطيني.
ووصلت أبو دقّة إلى فرنسا في سبتمبر/ أيلول الماضي، وشاركت في مؤتمرَين على الرغم من التضييق عليها بعد حملات هدفت إلى حظر نشاطها العام، كما شاركت في تحرّك من أجل إطلاق سراح جورج إبراهيم عبد الله، المعتقل اللبناني في السجون الفرنسية منذ 40 عاماً.
وفي 16 أكتوبر/ تشرين الأول الماضي، أُوقفت أبو دقّة في مدينة مرسيليا، جنوبي فرنسا، قبيل توجّهها إلى مدينة تولوز، بناءً على أمر من وزير الداخلية جبرالد دارمانان على أن يُصار إلى ترحيلها.
