A few years ago – I was contacted by a friend in China who asked me who this Western person was who has a Chinese surname (‘陳’ or ‘Chan’ the same name as that used in my family). I was intrigued, as the person in question seemingly pronounced the Chinese language ideogram ‘陳’ in exactly the same way as the Chinese branch of my family does, denoting a Hong Kong, New Territories or Guangdong (Cantonese) origination. Indeed, within North China – the ideogram ‘陳’ is usually referred to as ‘Chen’ (particularly in the Putonghua ‘Official’ language usage) – although in the Hokkien dialect of Southern Chinese Fujian province it becomes ‘Tan’ (in Vietnam it is ‘Van’), etc. Historically, and in one way or another we are all related – although the Sai Kung (New Territories) ‘Chan’ people are of ‘Hakka’ – or of Middle to North China origination! Although the Hakka people are part of the Han majority that comprise the Chinese people – there are persistent rumours that in the distant past some DNA influences within the Hakka genetic identity originate outside of North China and could well have involved typically non-Chinese traits (such as those found in Europe and Africa, etc).
Of course, I am usually far too busy to keep up with all the latest developments on the internet and have little interest in the machinations of internal US culture. The person in question, however, was one ‘Christopher Weston Chandlier’ (b. 24.2.1984), a native of Virgina born with severe Autism often described as ‘high-functioning’. Autism, as a distinct disorder, was first diagnosed by the (female) Soviet (Jewish) scientist from Ukraine – named Grunya Sukhareva – during 1925. The work of Grunya Sukhareva was eventually sent from the USSR to Germany for medical assessment. However, as this was at the time of Adolf Hitler coming to power – the name of this (Jewish) ‘Communist’ scientistic woman was ‘removed’ – with her unique work being then falsely being presented as originating through the research of a number of Nazi-German doctors (including ‘Asperger’) inspired by Hitler – whose names are now routinely associated with the discovery of ‘Autism’. A recent British academic investigation has discovered that these German ‘doctors’ were responsible for ‘euphonising’ many hundreds of German children unlucky enough to have been born with disabilities (including Autism) during the Third Reich. Of course, as the US education system is appallingly compromised (shot-through as it is with right-wing and far-right anti-intellectualism) – very few legitimate researchers are aware of these facts.
Christopher’s actual surname is ‘Chandler’ – which is Norman-French in origination. The Normans invaded England in 1066 CE – led by William the Conqueror. One possibility is that Viking (warrior) people carried this surname across the English Channel and settled in England from 1066 CE onwards. From the 10 century CE, for example, there exist words such as ‘chandelabre’ and ‘candelabrum’ both referring to ‘candlesticks’. (The ‘Normans’ were the ‘Vikings’ or ‘Norsemen’ – which a French King had granted a part of France which became known as ‘Normandy’ as a means to prevent Viking raids happening anywhere else along the French coast). Another possibility, and far more likely, is that the profession of ‘Candle Making’ developed during the latter part of the 13th century in England – and this is exactly when the Norman-French’ (or ‘Anglo-French’) terms of ‘Candeler’ and ‘Chandeler’ start to appear in the historical record – both denoting those who are expert in ‘Candle Production’. The spelling would evolve into ‘Chandler’ and ‘Chandlar’ – both referring to the same historical origin and means of making a living. The name ‘Chandler’ is directly related to the device termed the ‘chandelier’ – or that structure designed to hold many candles (usually in a circular fashion) so that when hoisted high up toward the celling when the candles are lit – the resulting ‘light’ is emitted in all direction and therefore allows all concerned to see one another and every object in the room regardless of the lack of daylight. What is the literal meaning of (Old French – 12th century CE) noun ‘chandelier’? Essentially, such a device represents a symmetrically branched cluster of lights suspended from a ceiling. A related spelling is ‘chaundeler’ or ‘candlestick’ (dating from the late 14th century CE).
NOTE: As aside, children in China are referring to ‘Chris Chan’ as ‘☨陳’ – the Orthodox Cross for ‘Chris’ and the Chinese surname ‘陳’! The Orthodox Cross ‘☨’ was chosen because Chris is ALWAYS being ‘double-crossed’ by those around him – a typical victim of ‘disability’ and ‘prejudice’ manifestng within the hyper-individuality of the predatory capitalist system of the US – a country that allows its able-bodied population to attack the disabled population – whilst simultaneously lecturng the world about ‘Human Rights’! Chris Chan is continuously bullied on the emotional and psychological levels by the able-bodied within American society (the typical US playground writ large) so that his behaviour is manipulated toward the illegal, unacceptable or unwarranted in the real world. It is Chris Chan who is then ‘punished’ by the Authorities – whilst those hundreds of fine young Americans (always lurking in the shadows like the cowards they are) who have committed these hate-crimes not only go unpunished – but actually ‘align’ themselves with the forces of law and order when the next stage of the entertainment begins!
