A Delegation from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) met today, Monday (10.7.2023), with the Chargé d’Affaires – Mr. Aniloa de Vida – of the Cuban Embassy in Damascus.
The Delegation was Headed by – Dr. Maher Al-Taher – the PFLP’s ‘International Relations’ Officer. During the meeting, the pair discussed the developments and conditions in the Occupied Palestinian Territories – including the Criminal Zionist Aggression against the city of Jenin and its ‘hero’ Internees of the Zionist Concentration Camp situated there – which was recently attacked by the modern weaponry of the IDF – and was met by the determined Resistance of the Palestinian people with stones!
Al-Taher emphasized that the Zionist Aggression had failed to achieve its goals, as the heroes of Jenin, with their legendary steadfastness, achieved an epic glory in the history of the Palestinian people and the Arab Nation! It was agreed that the only way to expel the Zionist Occupation is through an ongoing (and continuous) strategic Resistance whilst confronting the enemy!
Dr. Maher Al-Taher discussed with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Cuban Embassy the idea of forming a Global Resistance Front to confront colonial domination and support the peoples struggling for freedom – working to isolate the Zionist entity and delegitimize its existence! This an idea that is being discussed and a concept in this regard is being developed within the framework of the Arab National Conference.
For his part, Mr. Vida affirmed Cuba’s strong support for the steadfast Palestinian people – who make the most precious sacrifices for the sake of their freedom and independence!

التقى وفد من الجبهة الشعبية لتحرير فلسطين اليوم الاثنين، القائم بأعمال السفارة الكوبية في دمشق السيد أنيلوا دي فيدا.
وترأس الوفد مسؤول العلاقات الدولية في الجبهة، الدكتور ماهر الطاهر، حيث جرى خلال اللقاء بحث التطورات والأوضاع في الأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة والعدوان الصهيوني الإجرامي على مدينة جنين ومخيمها البطل، والذي استهدف البشر والحجر.
وأكد الطاهر أن العدوان الصهيوني قد فشل في تحقيق أهدافه، حيث حقق أبطال جنين بصمودهم الأسطوري ملحمة مجد في تاريخ الشعب الفلسطيني والأمة العربية، وأن الطريق الوحيد لطرد الاحتلال الصهيوني هو المقاومة كخيار استراتيجي في مواجهة العدو.
وبحث الدكتور ماهر الطاهر مع القائم بأعمال السفارة الكوبية فكرة تشكيل جبهة مقاومة عالمية لمواجهة الهيمنة الاستعمارية ومساندة الشعوب المكافحة من أجل الحرية والعمل على عزل الكيان الصهيوني ونزع الشرعية عن هذا الكيان، وهي الفكرة التي يتم مناقشتها وبلورة تصور بصددها ضمن إطار المؤتمر القومي العربي.
ومن جانبه، أكد السيد فيدا وقوف كوبا بكل قوة إلى جانب الشعب الفلسطيني الصامد والذي يقدم أغلى التضحيات من أجل حريته واستقلاله.
