June 20th of each year coincides with the International Celebration of World Refugee Day as this is the day declared by the United Nations, (in December 2000), to remind the International Community of the tragedies suffered and endured by Refugees all over the world, as a result of wars and occupation! For many years, the Palestinian people have reminded the world of the increasing repercussions still happening as can be seen through the desperate Palestinian diaspora and refugee situation! This situation is more than 75 years old – and was caused by the Zionist Occupation that expelled the Palestinians by force of arms, terrorism and organized deportation operations from their historical homeland – using various methods of killing, threats, torture, rape, destruction and systematic violence!
The Forum of Institutions and Associations operating in the Palestinian sector in Lebanon – calls on the International Community to help and enable Palestinian Refugees to exercise their Right of Return to their homes and lands from which they were expelled, to abandon the policy of double standards in the application of International Law, and not to discriminate between Refugees based on their origin, race, colour or their religion!
RIGHT OF RETURN!
The Forum of Institutions and Associations affirms that the Right of Return for Refugees is an individual and collective right – endorsed by International Law, covenants and UN Resolutions.
The Forum of Institutions and Associations calls upon the UNRWA Advisory Committee, at its semi-annual meeting held in Beirut on the 20th and 21st of June 2023, to face the challenges posed, and to treat every Refugee equally as part of their responsibilities – given that Lebanon Heads this Committee – and therefore it must play a major role. The International Community must be persuaded to encourage UNRWA to stop withholding vital services to Palestiinian Refugees and to only delegate its powers to other (sympathetic) parties! UNRWA has to shoulder its responsibility in providing all required services, health care and education until the Palestinian Refugees return to their homes from which they were forcibly displaced by Zionist aggression.
The Forum of Institutions and Associations affirms its rejection of resettlement projects, and calls on the host countries, and all Human Rights and Humanitarian Institutions, to stand with the Palestinian Refugees, especially in Lebanon, in order to provide them with full human and social rights and the requirements of a decent life, and to provide them with all assistance and support that their steadfastness needs until the achievement of their return.

في يوم اللاجئ العالمي: “منتدى المؤسسات والجمعيات يطالب المجتمع الدولي لإقرار حقوق اللاجئين الفلسطينيين

وافق يوم 20 حزيران من كل عام الاحتفال الدولي بيوم اللاجئ العالمي، وهو اليوم الذي أعلنته الأمم المتحدة، في كانون الأول من عام 2000 للتذكير بالمآسي التي يكابدها ويعاني منها اللاجئون في العالم، نتيجة الحروب والاحتلال، فمنذ سنوات طويلة، والشعب الفلسطيني يُذكّر العالم بالتداعيات التي مازالت تتزايد بفعل استمرار حالة الشتات واللجوء الفلسطيني التي زاد عمرها عن 75 عاماً، حين قام الاحتلال الصهيوني بطرد الفلسطينيين بقوة السلاح والإرهاب وعمليات الترحيل المنظّمة، مستخدماً مختلف أساليب القتل والتهديد والتدمير والعنف الممنهج.
يطالب منتدى المؤسسات والجمعيات العاملة في الوسط الفلسطيني في لبنان، المجتمع الدولي مساعدة وتمكين اللاجئين من ممارسة حقهم بالعودة إلى ديارهم وأراضيهم التي هُجِّروا منها، والتخلي عن الكيل بمكيالين وسياسة المعايير المزدوجة في تطبيق القانون الدولي، وعدم التمييز بين اللاجئين بناء على أصلهم، أو عرقهم، أو لونهم، أو دينهم.
يؤكد منتدى المؤسسات والجمعيات” على أن حق عودة اللاجئين هو حق فردي وجماعي، أقرّته القوانين والمواثيق الدولية والقرارات الأممية، لا يملك أحدٌ التراجع عنه، أو التفريط فيه، أو المساومة عليه، أو التنازل عنه، ويُجدّد رفضنه لكل الحلول الساعية إلى إسقاط قضية اللاجئين وإنهاء حق العودة.
يدعو منتدى المؤسسات والجمعيات” اللجنة الاستشارية لوكالة “الاونروا” في اجتماعها نصف السنوي المُنعقد في بيروت يومي 20 و21 من حزيران الجاري، إلى مواجهة التحديات المطروحة، وأن تضع الجميع أمام مسؤولياتهم، باعتبار أن لبنان يترأس هذه اللجنة، وبالتالي يجب عليه أن يؤدي دوراً كبيراً ضاغطا تجاه المجتمع الدولي بصفته أنه إحدى الدول المضيفة للاجئين.
يشدّد المنتدى على رفض نقل خدمات أو تفويض صلاحيات وكالة “الأونروا” إلى أي جهة أخرى، وكذلك يُشدد على ضرورة أن تتحمل وكالة “الأونروا” مسؤوليتها في توفير الخدمات والرعاية الصحية والتعليمية وغيرها حتى عودة اللاجئين إلى ديارهم التي هجّروا منها قسراً.
يؤكّد منتدى المؤسسات والجمعيات رفضه مشاريع التوطين، ويدعو الدول المضيفة، وكل المؤسسات الحقوقية والإنسانية إلى الوقوف مع اللاجئين الفلسطينيين، لاسيما في لبنان من أجل توفير كامل الحقوق الإنسانية والاجتماعية، ومتطلبات الحياة الكريمة لهم، تقديم المساعدة لهم ودعم صمودهم حتى تحقيق العودة.
