Brazil: Suspected ‘Lesbian’ Mummies Discovered (2008)

Two Women in Ancient Embrace

On February 23rd, 2008, Brazilian archaeologists found a pair of mummies lying together (as if in romantic or loving embrace), believed to be ‘nuns’ in a grave situted in the Catholic monastery of Sao Paulo, Brazil. The pair appear to be lying in a final embrace as they share the dying process together. Some archaeologists suspect that this may be a pair of ancient homosexual mummies – although more research is required.
