A Scholar Can Accurately "Copy" Just As They Accurately Think Their Own Thoughts!

UK: Email – Defining the Latin-Term “Amanuensis”! (24.8.2026)

Thank you for your very interesting email. Years ago, when I was involved with formal academia (frequenting colleges and universities) the function of “amanuensis” was fairly common. I am not sure if this is the case today – as I am engaged in a broad post-doctorate study that involves researching in (and from) various sources of data. Generally, this is termed “field work”, etc, and can involve much travelling – but with the advent of the internet means that “without going out of my room – I can know all things” – to quote the Book of Change. I often find that examining the Chinese-language equivalent of Western words can give an important insght into the historical meaning of these terms.

Cheam: School Case Sparks Landmark Ruling on Disabled Pupils’ Rights! (23.8.2026)

I have added the single comment this article has a) attracted, and/or b) been filtered-out and included by the paper (who knows?). Although the readership does not possess all the details that the Tribunal considered – The Sutton Guardian thinks it is reasonable to include a comment from an obvious right-wing troll. Presumably the “presence” of a disabled child would be considered “disruptive” (regardless of disability or behaviour) – or perhaps the a “wheelchair” would be considered “disruptive” because able-bodied students have to “make adjustments” by walking around it? Or, the school needs to “ensure” that the alleyways and corridors are “wide-enough”? The far-right speculation is endless and it is interesting that Sutton Guardian feels the need to share it with the general readership.

India: “Moksha Passage” of Tamil Nadu Temple Claims Life – Another Escapes! (22.8.2028)

For the Hindu – who worships a pantheon of gods – this process also involves painful and/or selfless acts (similar to the self-flagellation found within Medieval Christianity). Whilst a Buddhist, for a time, might feel pain whilst deliberately “not doing something” they are used to doing (like an addict giving-up the desired object) – the Hindu will quite often willingly “invite” pain and suffering into their mind and body as a means to “purify” the senses, remove the obscuring karma, and clearly perceive the deity in question. At the temple below, this process involves squeezing through a narrow stone passage. This indicates that “Dharma” (the spiritual path of self-purification) – is both “narrow” and “restrictive” – which is true. However, the path of Dharma tends to indicate that behaviour during everyday life is controlled and restricted as regards “choices”. This stone passage seems to be a metaphor in concrete terms – teaching the adherent that everyday freedom must be “restricted” (the stone tunnel) – if ultimate freedom is to be achieved – (emerging from the narrow tunnel). Ironically, the adherent often imerges from the tunnel just as deluded as when they went in. Herein lies why the Buddha propagated the message he did.

UK: Arday – Who Art in Heaven – Hallowed Be Thy Name! (21.8.2026)

I respect Dawn Butler, and have listened to her opinion over the years, but I was forwarded a video of a speech she made at a pro-Arday rally recently, where she firmly mounted the bandwagon and claimed that the act of “unmasking dishonesty” amounted to a “racist attack” – on the grounds that the right supported the exposure. Who cares what the right thinks? It is this kind of flawed logic that permits corruption to become normalised and whistle-blowers to live in fear. If this bourgeois game is all about “equality” – then surely “equality of accountability” is a part of this process? As you can see, the days of a united front between Black and non-Black people has not existed for sometime. Just as long as Black people align themselves with establishmentarian capitalism – then these sociological ruptures are bound to happen. There is no point digging the hole you fall into – and then blaming “Whitey” for inventing the shovel. You are being manipulated by a ruthless class-system. It is designed to make us hate and fight one another. Toughen-up, sort your life out, and get your mind straight.

US: Trump Vows to “Break Wynd” Over AI Row! (17.8.2026)

She said that when she was found guilty, she was “hit with a wave of grief” because she realised her peers “just didn’t get” the danger she believes is posed by the race to superintelligence. But she was beginning to feel “vindicated” as more prominent figures like Sanders were speaking out. She is now braced for the prison experience of an orange jump suit, “horrible food, dirt [and] you can’t sleep”. She has been previously jailed for short periods related to her decades of political activism over causes including Nicaragua, nuclear disarmament, western Sahara and Palestine.

Her message to the chief executives of OpenAI, Anthropic and Meta, which also reported a security incident with its model, was “regain your humanity”. Kaufmyn said her target audience was ordinary people “and the message being: stop the progress of this technology. Let’s get a global ban on the race to superintelligence.”

Prof Stuart Russell, a leading AI academic at the University of California at Berkeley and president of the International Association for Safe and Ethical AI, gave evidence in Kaufmyn’s defence. He claimed OpenAI’s activities “pose an unacceptable risk”, alleging it had deployed AI systems with inadequate safeguards. He said that further development of these systems “must be conditioned on rigorous guarantees of safety, which are currently unavailable”.

The Estate Agents is Called "Progressive" in North Bergen!

UK: North Bergen – New Jersey [USA] – London Calling! (11.8.2026)

I suppose as I write predominantly in “English” it is inevitable that a US audience will be attracted – if not only out of curiously – rather than any great political engagement. Surely, it would be logical to think this (of course, I exclude my progressive US readership from this assessment). Imagine my surprise when I saw that around half of the 900 or so hits my blog attracts (each week) in the US is from a single city – namely “North Bergen” in New Jersey. The name is either Dutch or Scandinavian – but the British once ruled this area. I have been reading about ths place as quite frankly I am astonished that my output would be of any interest to the average American – let alone in a single city. It could be a fluke and I am reading too much into it – but I am grateful for every read and click my work attracts – whether the content is liked or not. So, to those people of “North Bergen” who I will never meet or personally know – I thank you for the “click” – even if it was in error. Thank you for giving me something “new” to research. Thank you for sharing this path through my words!
