I informed Mr Slater that the UKIP participant was photographing and filming – but took no action. Given the circumstances, I did not want any violence on the protest and so I tried to get between my family and the UKIP participant to spoil his ability to get a clear shot. This person left us briefly alone only when the TV cameras showed-up. As we are obviously Socialists – the BBC kept well away from us – but they did approach Mr Slater – indeed there is a video on Youtube of Mr Slater being interviewed by the local BBC Spotlight programme and right next to him – clearly in-shot – is the UKIP participant. Below are a number of photographs I took of the UKIP participant harassing my partner and three year old daughter, and a brief selection of the racist comments that Nick Slater, his family, friends and Green Party colleagues uploaded onto his personal Facebook page attacking my family – whilst defending the presence of the UKIP participant.
My father was taken-out today for lunch with members of the family in the Reddenhill Road area of Babbacombe, Torquay. Unfortunately he was refused service at two cafes in the area because he was in a wheelchair:
A new grass roots political movement is needed to represent the workers and take the initiative away from Labour and their confidence trick of claiming to represent the workers at each election. If Labour continues to take hard earned money from the workers via union dues – then it has a moral duty to represent those who funds its existence. The fact that Labour continues to take working class money but refuses to represent the workers suggests a very exploitative relationship. This situation has allow a far-right fascist Tory Party to gain power for a second time. This kind of duplicity has cost lives, and will continue to take lives.
The Management of the Livermead Cliff Hotel – Torquay Road – Devon (and associated hotels in the area), advertises and supports the far-right political cause of the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP), the policies of which are premised upon racism and discrimination.
In the 1980’s, the BBC filmed a number of interviews and news clips featuring the rampant British racist and National Socialist Mr Colin Jordan (1923-2009).
It is a remarkable manipulation of State media the likes of which has not been seen since Adolf Hitler’s rise to power in the early 1930’s. The point of this exclusion from the media of working class protest is to allow the middle and upper classes (who have received generous tax-cuts at the expense of deprived benefit recipients) to continue to live in the privileged and opulent lifestyles unencumbered by issues of conscience. With such social devastation it is difficult to envisage how or why the Tories could win the next general election, but in a very real sense, their complete control and manipulation of the media makes it very likely when UK voting patterns are taken into account.
