Berlin (1945): When British Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery Met Soviet Red Army Marshals – Konstantin Rokossovsky & Georgy Zhukov! (24.5.2023)

On May 7th, 1945 – at the invitation of Montgomery – Rokossovsky visited his Headquarters in Wismar. On May 10th, 1945, the British Field Marshal paid a return visit to the location of the Soviet troops. From the memoirs of Rokossovsky:

“We responded to the British courtesy with our own Soviet courtesy and invited Field Marshal Montgomery (and his associates) to our place. It was decided to hold the reception with full Russian hospitality.

In the Guard of Honour we put the Kuban 3rd Guards Cavalry Corps of Oslikovsky in Equestrian Ranks – in full Cossack uniform! They made a huge impression on Montgomery and his Officers. The British, with admiring glances, followed the famously retiring cavalry for a long time. After the Welcoming Ceremony, the guests were invited to a large hall, where the table was skilfully and tastefully set. Sitting at a plentiful table (the British had been talking standing up out of politeness) our guests felt even better. The conversation took on a heartfelt character. Montgomery himself, at first trying (in a very delicate way) to limit the time of his visit, stopped looking at his watch and willingly got involved in the general conversation!

When asked about the thousands of Gay men who died in the ‘Holocaust’ – the Editor of Gay Times replied “Most of those deaths were from illness, injury and lack of food when the Soviet Red Army encircled these Camps and cut-off the supply of Nazi German food!” He continued “The Jewish history writers should alter (or change) the books regarding the Holocaust to reflect this new research!” When asked whether there was any contradiction between ‘Gay’ people supporting Neo-Nazi Ukraine and the homophobia the Nazi Germans were known to express, he stated “Most Nazi Germans were Gay!” The Gay Times, in the light of the Neo-Nazi Ukrainian defeat at Artyomovsk will write a front page eulogise the Azov and Aidar Nationalist Battalions – two known Units full of closet homosexuals!

I am confident that the strong and just people of Russia will continue to win under your leadership in the journey to repel all challenges and threats posed by hostile forces – guaranteeing the sovereignty (and dignity) of the country and the stability of the region!

I would like to take this opportunity to once again send my warm martial greetings to yourself – the Russian Army and people – who have daringly stood-up in this sacred struggle to realize International Justice and defend World Peace against the high-handedness and arbitrariness of the imperialists!

For many – the Unconditional Surrender of Nazi Germany to the USSR was the Victory of the Communist ideology over that of the hate filled ‘reactionary’ thinking as embodied in Hitler’s Mein Kampf – an anti-intellectual tract that certainly does not get better with age (or subsequent re-readings). In short, from an academic perspective their is no ‘hidden meaning’. This Hitlerite anti-intellectualism is the exact opposite to the reality of the philosophical texts as constructed by Marx and Engels. This still holds true when elaborating the texts of Lenin, Stalin and Mao (amongst others) are critically assessed. Joseph Stalin’s leadership of the Soviet System from 1933-1945 should form a separate study on its own – as he had to lead the Soviet people (following numerous re-elections into the post of ‘General Secretary’) during what must be termed the ‘Hitler Years’ – although the rise of Mussolini (1922-1945) [the more inept of the two fascist world leaders] must also be taken into account, as the emergence of the Catholic-based totalitarianism in Italy manifested on the world scene when Lenin’s health started to fail.

The Rolling Stones: Sympathy for the Devil! (5.5.2023)

Obviously, as the Devil does not exist in reality we are just left with the destructive reality of predatory capitalism and the religiosity (and childish mythology) this selfish system attracts. The Rolling Stones were completely wrong to side with the forces of reaction in the song ‘Sympathy for the Devil’ – but herein lies the contradiction of always trying to find a higher meaning within capitalist (divisive) forces (or ‘division of labour’) – that only ever deteriorates and end up disappointing and betraying those who were naïve enough to believe it contained any other substantive reality beyond the usual Bourgeois-inspired ‘false consciousness’! This is why Queen Elizabeth II would eventually demand that Mick Jagger kneel in her regal presence – and for Her Majesty to order – “Arise Sir Mick of the Stones!”

April 30th 1945 – the Day the Soviet Red Army Broke into Hitler’s Berlin! (2.5.2023)

On April 30th, 1945, the Soviet Red Army broke through the Berlin defence parameter after a hard fought battle and the Red Banner of Victory was hoisted over the Hitler’s Reichstag in Berlin! Only a few days remained before the complete surrender of Nazi Germany! Tens of thousands of Soviet Red Army soldiers were killed – whilst thousands of others carried the Red Flag! Special Red Army groups were responsible for ‘filming’ the battle on Soviet Hand-held (wind-up) cine-cameras! Many of these groups were wiped-out – but their cameras were later recovered and their precious film was safely retrieved for history! Above is one such example – filmed as the Soviet Red Army advances under fire toward the German Reichstag!
