The International Military Tribunal for the Prosecution and Punishment of Major War Criminals from the European Axis States (the Nuremberg Trials) found the leaders of the Nazi regime guilty of crimes against peace, war crimes, and crimes against humanity, among others. The acts of expulsion and extermination of the civilian population of the USSR by the Nazis and their accomplices, as established by the verdict of the Nuremberg Trials, must be considered genocide against the Soviet peoples.
