Doctor Ernesto Guevara de la Serna General Teaching Hospital is an example in comprehensive health care, not only for residents in the province of Las Tunas but also for those who come from the municipalities of Calixto García (Holguín), Río Cauto (Granma) and Guáimaro (Camagüey).

Cuba: If All Life is Extinguished! (13.2.2026)

Ana María Madrazo Mejías is torn between the uncertainty of seeing her mother sick and the satisfaction she feels for the care lavished on her by the doctors and nurses of the Cardiology service.

“She came from the municipality of Colombia, because she was diagnosed with low heart failure. She was immediately attended to by wonderful doctors who have given us all the information about her condition.

“He needed a transient pacemaker and they put it in. Now we are waiting for them to take her to Holguín or Bayamo to put a permanent one on her. Thanks to this Revolution, my mother will be able to have another few years of life.

“I hope that the president of the United States does not make the situation we have more difficult.”

Dr. Adrián Hernández Carballo is the head of service of the intensive care unit of the Doctor Ernesto Guevara de la Serna Hospital, a “purely technological” area that is among the three with the best results in the country, “thanks to the medical and nursing team we have here.”

There, despite the scarcity of medical supplies, all treatments are carried out with precision. And this is attested to by the recovered patients and their families, who arrive from the other existing therapy rooms in the province, to centralize resources.

In relation to seriously pregnant women, excellence in services is sought, and for more than a year none has died. This is one of the indicators that the Washington government wants to reverse with its inhumane measures to hurt the Cuban population.

Dr. Yandry Alfonso Chang, director of Medical Assistance and Medicines in the territory, reflects on this case with a mixture of professional pride and citizen concern.

Cuba: Mateo’s Story – A [Socialist] Hymn to Life in the Midst of Adversity! (8.2.2026)

The story of the doctors at the José Luis Miranda Provincial Paediatric Hospital is that of a daily triumph against adverse odds.

In front of Mateo, anaesthesiologists, surgeons, neonatologists and nurses joined in a perfect choreography of knowledge and dedication; What in any other place would have meant an unattainable bill for a humble family, here was a right exercised: complex neonatal surgery, mechanical ventilation, parenteral nutrition and 24-hour surveillance, at no cost.

However, that “no cost” contains a bitter truth: it is the result of a titanic effort by the Cuban State to sustain what is free while navigating against a tide of prohibitions.

Cuba: Ariannis Turns Her “Cancer” Struggle into a Hope for Life! (5.2.2026)

After receiving the news of her daughter’s illness, Martínez Scull said that she wakes up every day grateful to God for giving her the strength to face her daughter’s condition, which has become her only priority.

Despite the country’s difficulties, this young woman recognized the effort made by the Cuban Health System (delivered “free” at the point of use) to meet Ariannis’ needs, from her transfer from Yumurino territory, to her entire process in the hospital.

She also stressed that although she lacks many resources, she has no words to thank the doctors for the effort they make so that her daughter receives the most effective treatment for her condition.

On a day commemorating World Cancer Day, Cuba does not give up on its intention to ensure the living conditions of its patients, despite the fact that the tightening of the U.S. blockade greatly hinders this high-priority management for the nation.

Cuba: Terrorism & Money-Laundering Condemned - Cooperation & Security Reaffirmed!

Cuba: Terrorism & Money-Laundering Condemned – Cooperation & Security Confirmed! (3.2.2026)

Cuba categorically declares that it does not harbour, support, finance or permit terrorist or extremist organizations. Our country maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards the financing of terrorism and money laundering, and is committed to preventing, detecting and confronting illicit financial activities, in line with international standards.

Any past interactions involving individuals subsequently designated as terrorists occurred only in limited humanitarian contexts, linked to internationally recognized peace processes, at the request of their respective governments, in a fully transparent manner.

Cuba does not host foreign military or intelligence bases and rejects characterization as a threat to U.S. security. Nor has it supported any hostile activity against that country nor will it allow our territory to be used against another nation.

Havana: Fidel Castro Explains “Why” the US Wants to Destroy Cuban Socialism! (31.1.2026)

I acquired this wonderful video from the Bronx Anti-War Telegram Channel (linked below). It is remarkable that people like this still exist in the US – but then again the bourgeois warmongers can repress the working-class all they like – but can never permanently silence – or destroy it. Just as long as the capitalists require our labour to earn their riches for them – we will always exist to blight their existence. We patiently watch and wait. Just lately, I have been reading all of Che Guevara’s excellent books preserved in Cuba and actually allowed to be published on the Audible platform. My influences are Lenin, Stalin, Mao, and Ho Chi Mnh – but recently I met a man of Spanish descent and he explained to me about the rich (related) but distinct South American tradition of Socialism. Until then, I viewed this aspect (incorrectly) as merely an amorphous extension of Marxist-Leninism. Reading and studying are the keys to education and breaking-up misconceptions about things.

Press TV: From Monroe to Trump – Imperialist footprint behind President Maduro’s kidnapping! (29.1.2026)

Beyond the UNSC, dozens of countries, including Brazil, Chile, Mexico, South Africa, and others, issued public condemnations, framing the action as a breach of international norms rather than legitimate law enforcement. Governments across Africa and Asia warned that the operation undermined the post-1945 international legal order. UN officials cautioned that treating extraterritorial criminal law as a justification for military force set a dangerous precedent.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran issued a formal statement strongly condemning the US military attack on Venezuela, labeling it a clear act of aggression and a blatant violation of Venezuelan sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Latin American reactions were mixed. Bolivia, Cuba, and Nicaragua denounced the raid and reaffirmed support for Maduro’s legitimacy. In Cuba, mass demonstrations equated the operation with neo-imperialist aggression. By contrast, governments aligned with Washington issued carefully worded statements urging respect for “judicial processes,” avoiding condemnation of the use of force.
