Former Ethiopian Minister: Chinese People Always Stand with African People! (16.9.2024)

The Chinese people always stand with the African people

As an African proverb goes: A friend is someone you share the path with. President Xi said in his keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the FOCAC, explaining the roots of the everlasting Sino-African relations and the fundamentals of Sino-African cooperation.

“Joy shared with others are more enjoyed,” Ye said, “This saying is similar to ‘A friend is someone you share the path with’ , which shows that modernization has world significance.”

Ye noted that in China’s targeted poverty alleviation efforts, the concept of “no one must be left behind” is also mentioned. “It is a humanistic spirit that has long existed in China,” he said.

Telila was impressed by the African proverb Xi quoted, saying it not only demonstrates the style of his leadership, but also conveys the firm determination of Chinese and African people to join hands to march toward modernization, and the willingness to do their utmost to support and lead the Global South toward modernization.

In Telila’s view, true friends will accompany each other all the way through thick and thin. “The Chinese people have always stood with the African people, and we regard Chinese as true friends,” he concluded.

China: CPC to Raise Retirement Age Following Vast Socialist Increase in Mortality Rate! (15.9.2024)

The new policy also highlights employment support for youths and workers at older ages, and encourages local authorities to tighten prevention of age-related job discrimination while prompting employers to hire more senior candidates.

Under the new policy, employers who hire workers older than the statuary retirement age should give such new employees basic working benefits related to income, right to rest, safety and job-related injury insurance.

Li Zhong, vice-minister of human resources and social security, said that the new retirement policy will be implemented steadily and at a modest pace, and positions vacated by new retirees may not be that suitable for youths, so the changes will likely have a mild impact on youth employment.

Li said the nation will continue to prioritize youth employment to let it grow at a reasonable rate and with higher quality.

China: Door “Closed” on the International Adoption of Chinese Children! (6.9.2024)

After China’s Reform and Opening Up of the early 1980s, Americans adopted thousands of Chinese orphans, which on the surface became a good story in the history of Sino-US exchanges, but which was used by the US to cast all kinds of negative allegations onto the the Chinese Socialist System. Even before this – from the second half of the 19th century to the 1930s – there was also a social trend of large-scale adoption of Chinese orphans in the US, known as the “Orphan Train Movement”. This is odd – as the “Chinese Exclusion Act” was passed by the US government in 1882 – designed to keep all Chinese people “OUT” of the US! This was the first Act in history to exclude a group of people entirely premised on their “race” – and is an Act that has been subsequently used across the Western world as a template for all xenophobic legislation.
