Alan Watts, I suspect, is mixing Western notions of Japanese Zen with modern, Western concepts of science, and he does this very well, but the point he is missing is that from the perspective of Chinese Ch’an, there is a stage of development he does not know about and therefore is missing in his analysis.
Mind Beyond Matter (PSI)?
I would say that psi should proceed from a strictly material scientific basis, with no psi a priori assumptions sullying the reading (or generating) of results. This means that I do not ‘reject’ in principle the notion of psi, but that I do insist upon a material basis for its study.

As I am unburdened by belief, I see through the schemes and scenarios concocted by those who would control us. Although not a Christian in much the same way as I am not a Buddhist – there is a certain something holding everything together. Of course, it could well be the lack of structure.
