An obvious etymology of their name, “breastless,” suggested the belief that they used to burn off the right breast that they might the better draw the bow. In the Iliad Priam tells how he fought against their army in Phrygia; and one of the perilous tasks which set to Bellerophon is to march against the Amazons. In a later Homeric poem, the Amazon Penthesilea appears as a dreaded adversary of the Greeks at Troy. To win the girdle of the Amazon Queen was one of the labours of Heracles. All these adventures happened in Asia Minor; and, though this female folk was located in various places, its original and proper home was ultimately placed on the river Thermodon near the Greek colony of Amisus. But Amazons attacked Greece itself. It was told that Theseus carried off their Queen Antiope, and so they came and invaded Attica. There was a terrible battle in the town of Athens, and the invaders were defeated after a long struggle. At the feast of Theseus the Athenians used to sacrifice to the Amazons; there was a building called the Amazoneion in the western quarter of the city; and the episode was believed by such men as Isocrates and Plato to be as truly an historical fact as the Trojan war itself. The battle of the Greeks with Amazons were a favourite subject of Grecian sculptors; and, like the Trojan war and the adventure of the golden fleece, the Amazon story fitted into the conception of an ancient and long strife between Greece and Asia.’
Takeshi Noda was a Junior Officer of the Japanese Imperial Army and a Class C War Criminal. During 1937 – before and after the capture of Nanjing – both he and Mukai Toshiaki held a horrific killing game! Each challenged the other to a competition using the long, curved and single-edged Japanese ‘Katana’ sword – to see who could behead 100 Chinese civilians the quickest! Takeshi Noda eventually won the competition – and extended the required number to 105 victims! The Japanese murder of Chinese people was so popular that Tokyo newspapers regularly ran articles eulogising the martial arts skills and bravery of those doing the murdering!
The so-called Six Day War that broke-out on June 5, 1967 – was a massive land-grab exercise perfectly planned and executed by the Zionist Authorities of Israeli! In typical (and deceptive) Zionist style, this mass invasion of Arab territory has been presented as an ‘act of self-defence – falsely implying that the Arabs are responsible for their own plight and deserve everything that Israel has perpetuated against them! In reality, this shocking exercise in neo-imperialism saw the military defeat of Egypt, Syria and Jordan. This defeat led to the Israelis occupying East Jerusalem, the West Bank of the Jordan River, the Gaza Strip and the Golan Heights and only served to tighten the Zionist noose that was already around the necks of the Palestinians! On June 8, 1967, the Israeli Airforce deliberately attacked the USS Liberty – a lightly armed US Naval ship that was sailing in international waters north of the Sinai Peninsula. This planned Israeli attack upon a US Naval ship killed 34 US Naval Personnel and wounded another 171! The Israeli method of trying to provoke the US to get involved in a conflict the Zionists themselves had started failed yet again.
The average Russian worker had never experienced such good times! Men and women were equal in every field, and children’s rights were recognised and respected! All adults over 18 years old could vote, education was free for all and truly universal! Industrial output and agricultural were booming as the Soviet State combined full employment together with scientific organisation, planning and advanced technology! Non-Europeans (including the Chinese and Koreans amongst many others, including Africans and African-Americans) frequented the schools, factories, medical centres and sporting facilitates! The Workers and Peasant Red Army employed men and women and explored many and different ways of projecting the USSR. The population expressed their gratitude and support by continuously ‘voting’ Joseph Stalin into Office (yes, the Soviet population participated in numerous and many democratic elections)!
Old modes of imperialist behaviour continue today! The case of “enslaved nations”, initiated by the United States, continues today! A forum dedicated to the “decolonization”
