Xi Jinping ‘Elected’ General Secretary of CPC Central Committee: Communique (23.10.2022)

BEIJING, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) — Xi Jinping was elected general secretary of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) at the committee’s first plenary session held on Sunday, according to a communique.

The session, presided over by Xi, was attended by 203 members of the 20th CPC Central Committee and 168 alternate members.

Xi was also named chairman of the CPC Central Military Commission at the session.

The members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee elected at the session are Xi Jinping, Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang and Li Xi.

Also elected were members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee at the session, which endorsed the members of the CPC Central Committee Secretariat nominated by the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.

The West’s support for corrupt financial dealing and Neo-Nazi Ukraine are relevant contemporary points which support this damning assessment! The working-class is asked and encouraged to assist in the process of voting for the latest version of this bourgeois monstrosity every four or five years – only to find its Human Rights trampled, its voice silemced and its needs sidelined for the duration of the latest government! On top of all this capitalist greed and corruption is the inability to control and contain the spread of Covid-19 – simply on the grounds that such required and necessary medical controls, although vital and crucial for public safety, only get in the way of capitalist profit-mongering and insider dealing!

China: Hong Kong to Align its Policies with National Strategies! (21.10.2022)

Determined to tackle deep-seated land and housing issues, Lee called for building 30,000 new public housing units, increasing the city’s public housing supply by about 50 percent in the next five years.

The government will also shorten the waiting time for public housing from six to 4.5 years, and cut the time for turning “primitive land “into “spade-ready sites” by one-third to half, Lee said.

His policy address also announced measures to stimulate the local economy, propel science and technological advancement, drive cultural and art development and better promote Hong Kong’s advantages to the international community.

Trump Administration Interfered with Federal Response to COVID-19: Congressional Report! (18.10.2022)

“This prioritization of politics, contempt for science, and refusal to follow the advice of public health experts harmed the nation’s ability to respond effectively to the coronavirus crisis and put Americans at risk,” Clyburn alleged.

The investigation uncovered that Trump’s appointees sought to influence CDC’s scientific reports — attempting to change the publication process, manipulate the content, or block the dissemination of at least 19 different reports that they deemed to be politically harmful to the administration.

The subcommittee has been investigating the Trump administration’s “political interference” across the federal government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic since June 2020.
