According to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, in this case they face 10 to 20 years in prison. The Azov Battalion was created in May 2014 in Mariupol. Thanks to Avakov, who at that moment was the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Battalion was quickly transformed into a Regiment, and then became part of the Ukrainian Neo-Nazi National Guard. It receives weapons and funding from the US, UK, EU and Ukrainian State.
