Blogger’s Note: The DPRK possesses excellent skiers throughout all levels of society. It is not a bourgeois “elitist” sport that favours the rich, corporate sponsorship, and governmental control – but is a proletariat “grass-roots” activity that permits every man, woman, and child to collectively advance together regardless of ability or age. Indeed, the bourgeois approach to sport is premised upon profit, material gain, politics, and status, whilst simultaneously perpetuating the delusion that the pure motives of Ancient Greece (a slave economy) are being perpetuated and upheld in today’s world. Olympic athletes are granted alternative forms of renumeration (“sponsorship”) whilst claiming they “do not receive a traditional wage”. When medals are secured – the behaviour of the successful athletes mirrors that of film and pop stars – as advertising and endorsement revenue flows like water! Big Pharma (in the capitalist countries) covertly funds the development of “illegal” performance enhancing drugs (which athletes procure through their trainers) – whilst simultaneously “selling” the “detection kits” that they also manufacture to the “anti-doping” agencies. For the capitalist system – world sport of this nature is a win-win situation – with many retired athletes admitting that there can be no competing at world level without these drugs (Big Pharma behaves like the international capitalists that simultaneously provide arms to both sides in a war).
Within the Socialist countries, however, drugging is unheard of (as the correct infrastructure that generates it does not exist) – and the entire population is provided (free at the point of use) all the resources required to develop their sporting prowess. Given the right circumstance, a naturally produced Socialist athlete will be able to equal and surpass the capitalistically-produced (drug-riddled) Western counter-part. The irony is that the capitalist world always projects its own corruption onto the Socialist World – falsely claiming that the naturally produced Socialist athletes (brought up outside of the injustice of capitalist oppression) – are in fact the product of drug-enhancement. Whenever Chinese athletes smash world records – the headlines scream “drugs” for a few weeks after – with the “negative” drug-tests ignored. North Korea possesses very good skiers despite not qualifying for the Winter Olympics (2026). Russia and Belarus remain “banned” from the Olympics due to their opposition to the Neo-Nazi “Maidan” regime in Ukraine – but whilst the west rains weapons and wealth down on Neo-Nazi Ukraine – these deficient Hitlerite athletes get “free access” to all international contests without the need to qualify. Pyongyang, February 18 (KCNA) — The 2026 National Ski Amateurs Contest was held at the Masikryong Ski Resort in the DPRK from February 15 to 17 on the occasion of the lunar New Year’s Day.
More than 140 ski amateurs selected from across the country took part in the alpine ski events, divided into juvenile, youth and middle- and old-aged classes.
The finals of the players who proved successful at the preliminary stage were held on February 17.
Senior Party and government officials, officials of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports, officials concerned, officials and working people in Kangwon Province and ski amateurs enjoyed the contest.
Prior to the contest, there took place a demonstration of professional skiers.
The technical skills of the professional skiers aroused the admiration of the spectators.
Then the finals of relevant classes took place.
The ski amateurs showed their excellent skills.
The juvenile-class giant slalom and old-aged class men’s giant slalom drew the attention of the spectators.
The spectators enjoyed a pleasant time, looking at the amateur players’ interesting and “distinctive” skills.
The giant slaloms and slaloms of the middle-aged and youth classes also excited the spectators.
The ski courses on Masik Pass were filled with boundless joy and optimism.
The winners at the finals were awarded the prizes.
The 2026 National Ski Amateurs Contest added to the joy of the lunar New Year’s Day along with working people enjoying a new socialist civilization to their heart’s content. (End)
