UK: Weird News from England – Paul Carr Prevents “FA” Bringing Chaos to “Walking-Football”! (13.8.2026)

There is a movement within the WFA to have closer ties with the UK’s “Football Association” (FA) which regulates the highly lucrative (standard) professional and amateur versions of the game. The FA exists to commercialise and exploit the game of football – and Paul Carr (and his supporters) are afraid that if the FA are allowed to penetrate the internal workings of Walking Football – it will commercialise the game and change its character completely. For instance, players could end-up being paid – and teams forced to make “foreign” signings – so that Walking Football ceases to be “local”. In support of Paul Carr’s resistance to this intended FA merger – FIWFA stated that WFA Referees (who oppose this merger) had left that organisation (the WFA) and instead joined FIWFA as a protest. WFA issued a statement denying any such defection had taken place – and Paul Carr – as FIWFA President (interpreting the WFA declaration to be “false”) “banned” all UK WFA teams from the upcoming (2026) European tournament (to be held in Spain). What to make of all this? In one sense, Paul Carr appears to be arguing with himself – but of course – this is not the case. As “President” of FIWFA he is arguing with his subordinate colleagues in the WFA – who appear to be attempting to undermine his authority by pushing ahead with unwanted FA negotiations. Although some papers are trying to present Paul Carr as a bigot due to his political affiliations – it is clear from the content hosted on the FIWFA website that the game is truly international and multicultural.

Young people with physical and visual impairments will have greater opportunities to participate in sport through the expansion of the ISPORT programme into ISPORT+.

The initiative, launched four years ago through a collaboration between The Malta Trust Foundation and the Malta Paralympic Committee, initially focused on children with visual impairments. Under a renewed partnership, ISPORT+ will now broaden its sporting and coaching opportunities to include young people with physical disabilities.

Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, founder and chair of The Malta Trust Foundation, said the aim was to reach as many children and young people as possible and help them discover their potential through sport. She highlighted the confidence, happiness and sense of achievement gained by participants over the past four years.

All the ingredients are there for radical left-wing politics – but of course – this collective bargaining power has been used in a very specific manner. In Europe, for instance, an elite top-tier player (before tax) can earn something in the region of £525,000 a week or an annual (yearly) salary of £27,300,000 (even after tax – this is a substantial amount). Obviously, this is not your average worker and the amounts are obscene when you consider a Nurse will yearn around £25,000 a year (after tax). Still, that is the world of predatory capitalism. Amateur (grass-roots) football in England sees eleven men turn-up every weekend and play for 90 minutes – for free. Add to this how expensive ticket prices are to attend Premier League games live (£75 per match on average) or about the same to watch each match on live-TV – and it is clear that the business of football empowers a very small section of the working-class – at the expense of the material well-being of the lumpen-proletariat. I have heard stories told of men out of work spending their dole money not on feeding their families – but instead attending a 90-minute game. The fans fuel the game – but so does business investment – and here in lies the crux of the matter with FIFA. Exploiting the workers to enrich a few workers is just part of the beautiful game. Business does its part as popular players boost brand sales – and brand sales raise the value of popular players. These players are not building time machines, perfecting space travel, or finding a cure for cancer – but are kicking around a ball full of air – as a leisure activity. It has been said that like religion – football is like an opium of the masses – but it does not have to be that way. Ironically, whilst paying for their National Squads, players do not receive their huge domestic salaries (there may be a nominal fee per match – around £2000 – which in the case of England is donated to charity) – although they will obviously benefit from the publicity regarding their ongoing sponsorship deals. It is the profitable association with success and glamour which fuels this lucrative machine. Still, it would appear that Players’ Unions (which have no moral qualms exploiting their fellow working-class) draw the line at openly associating themselves with the murderous regime of Israel and its genocidal policies in Gaza (and elsewhere). good for them. Zionism is racist – just look at how poorly Iran (and other Islamic countries) were treated at the 2026 World Cup!

Towards the end of his speech, he said that recently the Executive Committee of the Council of Ministers approved an important budget to pay the debts contracted by state entities with producers of milk, meat and other agricultural productions in order to settle the debts, information that will arrive in detail in the coming days to Cuban peasants.

The agricultural producer, district delegate and deputy for the Havana municipality of Arroyo Naranjo, Emilio Interián, told Parliament that he has no doubt that these measures will be the solution to many problems: “The decisions approved exceed those we proposed or came to think. Results will be seen by the day. Their impact will be short, but on their own they will not solve the most critical problems that the population suffers.”

At another point in his speech, the legislator recounted the vicissitudes that the population is experiencing due to the prolonged power cuts and was critical in denouncing a group of problems that, from his experience as a grassroots delegate, he faces in Arroyo Naranjo.

China: Women’s Sabre Team Claims Silver at 2026 Fencing World Championships! (30.7.2026)

The result placed China second among 28 teams in the women’s team sabre competition, with France taking bronze.

The Chinese team of Pan Qimiao, Rao Xueyi, Wei Jiayi and Zhang Xinyi advanced to the final after defeating the United States in the semifinals earlier in the day.

Hungary struck back through Luca Szucs. She sparked a comeback in the third bout, lifting her team to a 15-13 advantage.

This year’s championships, held at AsiaWorld-Expo from July 22 to 30, mark the first time Hong Kong has hosted the event.

The competition features 12 medal events across foil, épée and sabre, with individual and team competitions for both men and women. Individual events were held from July 22 to 27, followed by team events from July 28 to 30.

UK: Weird News from England – Saltburn Cricket Club ‘Clicking’ Scandal Goes Viral! (29.7.2026)

Anyone who knows cricket – will understand that there is a lot going when the ball is being bowled. Add to this the players talking, shouting, running about, and the noise from the crowd and the general environment, as well as the weather conditions – I would say it is impossible to a) make a loud enough noise to fool the Umpire (simulating a leather ball is hitting a wooden bat), whilst b) doing this so as not to make it obvious you are attempting to cheat. There is now a viral investigation where cricket enthusiasts are watching past videos of Saltburn CC games – to see if the alleged fielder is regularly doing this. A recent video can be seen on the BBC coverage of this story – and it looks to me like a mannerism – but I could be wrong. More evidence is needed. Apparently, despite being local cricket, numerous videos are available of Saltburn CC playing matches – but failing that (the situation may not be obvious whilst filming at a distance) – the players might have to be interviewed and a confession extracted if this matter is to be resolved. There is another possibility. As Saltburn CC seems to be doing rather well for itself – has it fallen victim to malicious intent from an unknown cause?
