The Bolivarian Government and the people of Venezuela express their sincerest gratitude to South Africa for its prompt convening of a session of the UN Security Council, in response to the unilateral military action of the United States against Venezuela, which constitutes a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter. Likewise, we value its urgent call to all UN Member States to refrain from threatening or using force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any nation.
Today, the world faces a critical challenge: the threat posed by the United States to the peoples of the planet. It is imperative that we act with unity and determination to safeguard the sovereignty and rights of all nations.
