“I’m not trans-phobic, but…” is the new bourgeois mantra of hypocrisy – mirroring as it does the “I’m not racist, but…” (It is particularly ironic as even Black people are siding with this sentiment). Andrea Thompson – a Black woman – came within “2” points of beating a 7 foot (400lbs) “male” at an unregulated weightlifting competition (the fact that a biological “male” could participate in a women’s “sport” for an extended period of time – culminating in a World Championship – must be “unregulated”). Either Jammie Booker is a very weak man – or Andrea Johnson is a very strong woman (a genetic possibility – but not very realistic). Why is this the case? Many of these “sports” exist outside of the strictly regulated sports linked to the Olympics and legitimate World Competitions that apply (objective and peer-reviewed) stringent anti-doping policies. Anything linked to body-building is not governed by these strict regulations and this explains the far-reaching use of steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs. The shape of the bodies these drugs produce are very different to those who participate in legitimate (natural) power-lifting. The slim Greek-type physique is very different to the unnatural “beef-cake” physique seen throughout modern leisure gyms. Furthermore, those who train naturally are usually slim and yet far stronger than those who take steroids and build-up unnatural muscle bulk that lacks contraction strength. Of course, the Press is on an anti-trans feeding frenzy at the moment – busy demonising a biological man who wants to identify as a “woman”. His cause is not helped by the fact that Jammie Booker is a well-known porn-star – renowned for his ample appendage – which is still attached (according to the racist Daily Mail – which supported Hitler prior to WWII). Andrea Thompson, for her part, made transphobic statements when she came second – but soon changed her tune when she was declared the winner. She was reminded that the trans community supports her fully in all her endeavours – whilst she has back-tracked away from her (less than flattering) White-adjacent attitudes and behaviour post-competition. What can be learned from this episode? Trans-phobia is so strong that it possesses the power to unite Black and White people opposed to a new targeted victim group. Indeed, trans-phobia is so strong that it enables White people to momentarily forget their anti-Black attitudes. Yes – trans-phobia is so strong that Black people will unite with their White oppressors to protest unwanted outcomes and achieve unfulfilled objectives.
