Betsy & Gene in Happy Days!

Hackman Latest – Santa Fe Police Call-In “Dog Voice Therspists” to Crack Case! (5.3.2025)

Mystery surrounds the sudden deaths of Hollywood actor – Gene Hackman – and his American-Japanese (Hawaiian-born) wife “Betsy Arakawa (ベッツィ・アラカワ). The 30-year age difference between the two is not thought to be a factor at this point in the ongoing investigation. The reclusive couple lived in what is essentially a highly-securitised armed-compound – a type of exclusive “Waco” for billionaires – with probably as much military-grade weaponry stored at strategic points around the compound wall. The world has been transfixed as the Santa Fe Police – who are not usually permitted to freely enter these secured premises by the private para-military units that regularly patrol – have released the two 911 (999) telephone calls featuring what sounds like distraught male workers with distinct Hispanic accents – just one of the many contradictions surrounding the bizarre life of the rich and famous. The voice is heard informing the Police that “There is no address – and you must come to the gate.”

Police are baffled at the circumstances. One dog had died of starvation (and dehydration) whilst crated (in a cupboard) – with two other dogs found freely roaming the immense mansion and its spacious grounds through an open-door. These dogs had survived by drinking swimming-pool water and stealing food from the neighbours. Reports of rapid dogs driven crazy by hunger and “feasting” on corpses have yet to be confirmed. The Police have engaged Dog Voice Therspists – experts in a type of K-9 body and sign language – to communicate with the two surviving dogs to see if any information can be gleamed from their memory of events. It is early days and the process is slow – as it appears that the dogs belonged to Betsy – and prefer to communicate in Hawaiian-Japanese. The two experts currently available specialise in American-English and face an up-hill battle. The latest report suggests that both dogs assert that their grandparents do not know the grandparents of the translators – and therefore it would be impolite to share any intimate information regarding their owner – or the non-Japanese man she chose to live with. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
