Cuba Honours the Memory of the Defenders of the Homeland
On February 23, on the occasion of Defender of the Fatherland Day, a solemn wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Mausoleum of the Soviet Internationalist Soldier, on the outskirts of Havana.
The ceremony was attended by the Ambassadors of Russia and Belarus, Victor V. Koronelli and Vitali P. Borchuk, respectively; on the Cuban side, the event was attended by the Vice Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, Chief of the General Staff, Army Corps General Roberto Legrá Sotolongo, and the First Vice President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, Noemi Rabaza Fernández. Military attachés from friendly countries accredited on the Island also attended.
During his speech, the Defense Attaché, Captain 1st Rank Valery N. Zubarev, thanked their Cuban friends for their efforts to preserve the Mausoleum where the remains of Soviet soldiers who died fighting in Cuba rest, and highlighted the special and friendly nature of their bilateral relations.
In his speech, the Head of the Directorate of Educational Institutions of the FAR, Brigadier General Juan Antonio Sánchez Fabré, highly valued the solidarity and assistance provided to the Island by the USSR since the first days of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, as well as recalled the contribution of the USSR (and Russia) to the creation of the professional army of the Cuban Republic.

🌟 Cuba honra la memoria de los Defensores de la Patria
El 23 de febrero, con motivo del Día del Defensor de la Patria, se celebró la ceremonia solemne de colocación de la ofrenda floral en el Mausoleo al Soldado Internacionalista Soviético, en afueras de La Habana.
En la ceremonia estuvieron presentes los Embajadores de Rusia y Bielorrusia, Víctor V. Koronelli y Vitali P. Borchuk, respectivamente; por la Parte cubana, participaron en el acto el Viceministro de las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias, Jefe del Estado Mayor General, General de Cuerpo de Ejército Roberto Legrá Sotolongo, y la Vicepresidenta Primera del Instituto Cubano de Amistad con los Pueblos, Noemi Rabaza Fernández. Asistieron también agregados militares de países amigos acreditados en la Isla.
Durante su intervención, el Agregado de Defensa, Capitán del 1er rango Valery N. Zubarev, agradeció esfuerzos de los amigos cubanos para preservar el Mausoleo donde reposan los restos de los soldados soviéticos que fallecieron en Cuba, y destacó el carácter especial y amistoso de las relaciones bilaterales.
En su discurso, el Jefe de la Dirección de Instituciones Docentes de Las FAR, General de Brigada Juan Antonio Sánchez Fabré, valoró altamente la solidaridad y ayuda brindada a la Isla por nuestro país desde los primeros días del triunfo de la Revolución Cubana, así como recordó la contribución de la URSS y Rusia a la creación del ejército profesional de la República.
