We knew that the Saturday before Chinese New Year would mean that London’s Chinatown (Gerrard Street) would be packed so we got early (ish) to get out on the road by around 10am (early for a Saturday). We drove to Morden Tube Station (Northernline) and headed into Central London (Leicester Square). Actually, although busy, I think the crowd numbers were down on previous (pre-Covid) years! Still, less crowds equals less stress – although the staff of the New Loon Fung Restaurant were on edge – expecting a massive influx for “Dim Sum” (Chinese breakfast)!

We were amongst the first 20 or so people entering the restaurant – and was given a really good (spacious) tablet. The special dumplings are linked to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and designed to strengthen the heart (and other organs). Green tea flushes-out the system! Dim Sum means “hit heart” whilst Yum Cha means “drink tea”!

The Year of Snake (2025-4723) will have its ups and downs – but great things can be achieved if the right mind-set is developed and applied. As usual, we walked around Soho – where Marx and Engels once lived – and visited bookshops and parks! In many ways – this was a perfect day of togetherness and family. When we returned home – we watched the bluray of “Blake’s 7”! Every so often, when planning goes according to plan – a day can unfold extraordinarily well. Of course, any day can be like this – but humans tend to use special imaginations to make the unfolding of everyday life more appealing. When mind and matter suitably overlap – great things can be achieved with a relative ease! The children like the cake shop in Gerrard Street!
