This is the Police-Social Services action that sparked the unrest in Leeds yesterday. Interestingly, if these people are Romany – then they have given up their nomadic lifestyle for sedentary living in what I assume is a Council House. I am told that the Romany can be Orthodox Christian, Muslim and atheist – but there is a prevailing belief amongst these people that children are taken into care in the UK to be sexually abused. The Romany are opposed to the LGBTQ+ community and lifestyle – associating such ideas with paedophilia and paederasty. The fear is of child sexual abuse being facilitated by the British State – a deficient activity outlawed in the USSR and Socialist Romania. Indeed, many of these Romany attitudes, which may or may not be correct, might stem from the times of Socialist reconstruction – 1945-1989 – and reflect a progression away from pre-modern modes of thoughts and behaviours. The UK Social Services have been involved in numerous scandals involving the children of poor families taken into care not because of abuse – but because of poverty – and then “sold” through the adoption process to rich, White middle-class people living in affluent areas. These children are basically kidnapped to order by the Social Services – which attempts to justify this behaviour as being in the best interests of the child. If that really was the case – then why not assist the family involved and help lift them out of the grinding poverty the predatory capitalist system has inflicted upon them? Of course, there is no monetary profit in Socialism – and so these poor families are further “punished” for being poor by having their children removed!
