Scabiosis disease affects prisoners in the Negev Prison, due to the procedures of the Occupation Prison Service, which exacerbate the human and health suffering of the prisoners.
The Occupation’s decision to deprive prisoners of showering, washing their clothes, and exposure to sunlight, in addition to being held in small rooms, cramming prisoners in large numbers into narrow cells, and not allowing human waste to be removed from the cells while reducing the amount of water, are all these practices and other punitive measures that lead to the spread of diseases and epidemics among detainees. The most recent of which is the outbreak of scabies among prisoners, especially in the Negev Prison, in light of the worsening policy of medical negligence followed by the occupation prison administration against prisoners and detainees, which led to the martyrdom of dozens of prisoners, the last of whom was the martyr, thinker, and leader Walid Daqqa.
Scabies is a contagious skin disease that causes itching. It is caused by a small burrowing mite called Sarcoptes scabiei. It causes strong itching that intensifies during the night hours.
The Occupation follows systematic methods to weaken the bodies of prisoners as part of the ongoing crime of collective punishment, represented by medical neglect and methods of abuse and torture against them, in addition to depriving them of food and personal hygiene, despite the necessity of preventive measures to limit its spread. However, the Occupation Prison Administration refuses to take sick prisoners to clinics, and only isolating them in one room.
We, in the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Committee of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in Lebanon, condemn the arbitrary measures and ongoing daily violations against prisoners, carried out by the Zionist Prison Service Administration, which target prisoners in Zionist prisons and deprive them of their most basic human rights, which are guaranteed to them by International and Humanitarian Conventions, and we hold the Occupation accountable. The Zionist and the Prison Service bear full responsibility for the lives of male and female prisoners, especially children, women and the sick.
We call on the International Committee of the Red Cross, the World Health Organization, and International, Humanitarian and Human Rights organizations to carry out their duties and visit Zionist prisons, learn about the conditions of the prisoners, and put pressure on the Prison Service to provide treatment for the prisoners.
The ferocious and Nazi attack carried out by the Occupation Prison Administration against male and female prisoners, after October 7th 2023, and the practices and crimes committed today inside Prisons and Detention Centres, which affected all aspects of life, health and human rights, where beatings, torture, killing, hunger, cold, humiliation and isolation increased. A tool of abuse practiced against them, as part of a systematic policy of revenge by the Fascist Occupation System.
Since October 7th 2023, the Zionist Occupation Forces have arrested more than 8,000, including 355 children and 300 women, in addition to hundreds of those arrested from the Gaza Strip. The Occupation Forces are still concealing their places of Detention and their living and health conditions. Many prisoners have died as a result of medical negligence and torture, which they are subjected to.
We, in the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Committee of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, affirm the revival of the issue of the prisoners, and our support in a way that befits their sacrifices, steadfastness and patience, and that the issue of the prisoners requires from us broad solidarity, daily escalation, and mass and popular movements in support of and advocacy for the prisoners.

بيان صادر عن لجنة الاسرى والمحررين للجبهة الشعبية لتحرير فلسطين في لبنان

مرض سكابيوس يصيب أسرى سجن النقب، بسبب إجراءات مصلحة سجون الاحتلال، التي تفاقم المعاناة الإنسانية والصحية للأسرى.
ان اقدام الاحتلال على حرمان الأسرى من الاستحمام وغسل ملابسهم والتعرض لأشعة الشمس، بالإضافة لضيق الغرف وحشر الأسرى بأعداد كبيرة في زنازين ضيقة، وعدم السماح بإخراج النفايات من الزنازين مع تقليص كميات الماء، كل تلك الممارسات وغيرها من الإجراءات العقابية التي تؤدي لانتشار الأمراض والاوبئة بين المعتقلين، وآخرها تفشي مرض سكابيوس بين الأسرى لاسيما في سجن النقب،في ظل تفاقم سياسة الاهمال الطبي، التي تتبعها ادارة سجون الاحتلال بحق الأسرى والمعتقلين، التي ادت الى استشهاد العشرات من الاسرى، كان آخرهم الشهيد المفكر القائد وليد دقة.
ان مرض سكابيوس أو الجرب هو مرض جلدي معد يسبب حكة تنتج عن سوس ناقب صغير يسمى القارمة الجربية يسبب حكة قوية تشتد خلال ساعات الليل.
يتبع الاحتلال أساليب ممنهجة لإضعاف أجساد الأسرى في إطار جريمة العقاب المتواصلة بحقهم، تتمثل في الإهمال الطبي وأساليب التنكيل والتعذيب بحقهم، بالإضافة لحرمانهم من الطعام والنظافة الشخصية برغم ضرورة وجود إجراءات وقائية للحد من انتشاره، غير أن إدارة سجون الاحتلال ترفص إخراج الأسرى المرضى للعيادات، وتكتفي بعزلهم داخل غرفة واحدة.
اننا في لجنة الاسرى والمحررين للجبهة الشعبية لتحرير فلسطين في لبنان ندين الاجراءات التعسفية والانتهاكات اليومية المستمرة بحق الاسرى، التي تقوم بها ادارة مصلحة السجون الصهيونية، لتي تستهدف الاسرى في السجون الصهيونية، وحرمانهم من ابسط حقوقهم الانسانية، التي كفلتها لهم المواثيق الدولية والانسانية، ونحمل الاحتلال الصهيوني ومصلحة السجون المسؤولية الكاملة عن حياة الاسرى والاسيرات ولا سيما منهم الاسرى الاطفال والنساء والمرضى.
ونطالب اللجنة الدولية للصليب الاحمر، ومنظمة الصحة العالمية والمنظمات الدولية والانسانية والحقوقية، القيام بواجباتهم وزيارة السجون الصهيونية، والاطلاع على أوضاع الاسرى والضغط على مصلحة السجون لتقديم العلاج للاسرى .
ان الهجمة الشرسة والنازية التي تنفذها ادارة سجون الاحتلال بحق الأسرى والأسيرات، بعد السابع من أكتوبر، و الممارسات والجرائم التي ترتكب اليوم داخل السجون والمعتقلات، والتي طالت كل مناحي الحياة المعيشية والصحية والحقوقية، حيث الضرب والتعذيب والقتل والجوع، البرد، والاهانة والعزل، ولم تبق اداة تنكيل الا ومورست بحقهم، وذلك ضمن سياسة انتقام ممنهجة من قبل منظومة الاحتلال الفاشية .
فمنذ السابع من اكتوبر اعتقلت قوات الاحتلال الصهيوني ما يزيد عن 8000 من بينهم 355 طفلا و300 امراة، بالإضافة إلى المئات ممن اعتقلوا من قطاع غزة، وما زالت تخفي قوات الاحتلال اماكن احتجازهم وظروفهم الحياتية والصحية، واستشهاد العديد من الاسرى نتيجة الاهمال الطبي والتعذيب، الذي يتعرض له الاسرى في السجون الصهيونية.
اننا في لجنة الاسرى والمحررين للجبهة الشعبية لتحرير فلسطين نؤكد إحياء قضية الأسرى، واسنادهم بما يليق بتضحياتهم وصمودهم وصبرهم، وان قضية الاسرى تتطلب منا تكاتفاً واسعاً وتصعيدا يوميا، وتحركات جماهيرية وشعبية داعمة ومناصرة للاسرى .
