Statement by the Spokesperson of the “Joseon Lawyers Committee”:
Recently, the number of innocent civilian casualties continues to increase as Israel is gradually expanding its indiscriminate military attacks on the Gaza Strip.
According to data compiled to date since the outbreak of the Middle East crisis on October 7th, over 8,000 Palestinians, including over 3,000 children and 2,000 women, have lost their lives in the Gaza Strip due to Israel’s indiscriminate airstrikes and shelling. More than 20,000 people have been injured, and the scale of damage is expected to increase in the future due to the humanitarian crisis.
Nevertheless, instead of making efforts to resolve the situation, the United States continues to condone and promote Israel’s acts of massacring civilians – by focusing on military support for Israel.
After this incident, the United States dispatched not only two aircraft carrier strike groups, but also a large number of war equipment – including amphibious assault ships and fighter jets – to the region, and deployed missile defense and interception systems such as “THAAD” and “Patriot”, provideding support for Israel. The US is increasing military support to Israel, including submitting a comprehensive support plan including US$14.3 billion in aid to the National Assembly – and by so doing – are actively encouraging further and continuing attacks on the Gaza Strip.
This demonstrates that although the United States is outwardly talking about preventing the escalation of the situation – its true intention is to protect and provide strong support to Israel’s reckless military attack on the Gaza Strip.
The United States exercised its veto at the UN Security Council meeting on the Middle East crisis held on October 18th – citing Israel’s “right to self-defense,” and then also called for a “temporary halt” rather than “immediate ceasefire” at the meeting held on the 26th. The US refusal in adopting the said Resolution through such postering – clearly proves that there is no interest in protecting civilians in the Gaza Zone.
In particular, while the United States continues to insist that Israel is not responsible for the attack on a Palestinian hospital (in which more than 500 civilians died) – it shamelessly states that it cannot acknowledge the number of civilian deaths as announced by the Palestinian Health Authorities because such statistics cannot be directly verified on site! This anti-intellectual attitude clearly shows the cruelty and barbarism of the United States.
The United States, which talks about “protecting civilians” in Neo-Nazi Ukraine while making loud noises about “humanitarian disasters,” – is silent about Israel’s heinous acts of civilian massacres whilst is encouraging its toleration – which is the height of double standards.
Currently, the International Community is strongly demanding that Israel – which is clearly acknowledged as committing civilian massacres – is being met with large-scale protests and rallies around the world. The United States, which is protecting and condoning this, must immediately stop this (Zionist) human slaughter!
On October 27th, at a Special Emergency Session of the United Nations General Assembly, a Resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire for humanitarian purposes was adopted with the approval of 120 countries, and on the 28th, an immediate ceasefire was adopted to end Israel’s War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity to protect civilians. The announcement of statements by Middle Eastern countries regarding the implementation of a US-supported “purge” of the Palestinian Freedom Fighters has led to an explosion of strong protest and anger from the International Community.
The United States’ single-minded and reckless military support policy toward Israel is a War Crime of extraordinary callousness that has resulted in the mass murder of innocent Arabs. It is the United States that should be referred to the International Criminal Court and EXPELLED from the UN Human Rights Council.
Ending the double standards preferred by the United States – which pursues arbitrary power and oppressive tyranny throughout the world – is a prerequisite for establishing a fair and just International Order.

미국의 대이스라엘일변도정책과 무모한 군사적지원이야말로 무고한 아랍인대량학살을 초래하는 전쟁범죄,반인륜범죄이다

최근 이스라엘이 가자지대에 대한 무분별한 군사적공격을 계단식으로 확대하고있는것으로 하여 무고한 민간인사상자수가 계속 늘어나고있다.
지난 10월 7일 중동사태발생후 현재까지 종합된 자료에 의하면 가자지대에서는 이스라엘의 무차별적인 공습과 포격 등으로 3,000여명의 어린이들과 2,000여명의 녀성들을 포함하여 8,000여명의 팔레스티나인들이 목숨을 잃고 2만여명이 부상을 당하였으며 인도주의위기까지 겹쳐 앞으로 피해규모는 보다 확대될것으로 예상되고있다.
그럼에도 불구하고 미국은 사태해결을 위해 노력할 대신 이스라엘에 대한 군사적지원에 열을 올리면서 이스라엘의 민간인학살행위를 계속 묵인조장하고있다.
이번 사태발생후 미국은 두개의 항공모함타격단뿐 아니라 강습상륙함,전투기를 비롯한 수많은 전쟁장비들을 지역에 파견하고 《싸드》,《패트리오트》와 같은 미싸일방위 및 요격체계들도 배비하였으며 이스라엘에 대한 143억US$의 지원금을 포함한 포괄적지원안을 국회에 제기하는 등 이스라엘에 대한 군사적지원도수를 높이면서 가자지대공격을 극구 부추기고있다.
이것은 미국이 겉으로는 사태확대방지에 대해 떠들어대고있지만 본심은 가자지대에 대한 이스라엘의 무모한 군사적공격을 극구 비호하고 든든히 뒤받침해주려는데 있다는것을 보여준다.
미국이 지난 10월 18일에 진행된 중동사태와 관련한 유엔안전보장리사회 회의에서 이스라엘의 《자위권》을 운운하며 거부권을 행사한데 이어 26일에 진행된 회의에서도 《즉시적인 정전》이 아니라 《일시적인 정화》를 주장하면서 결의안채택을 파탄시킨것은 가자지대의 민간인보호에는 전혀 관심이 없다는것을 명백히 립증해주고있다.
특히 미국이 팔레스티나병원에 대한 공격으로 500여명의 민간인사망자가 발생한 사건의 책임이 이스라엘에는 없다고 계속 강변하면서 팔레스티나보건당국이 발표하는 민간인사망자수를 현지에서 직접 확인할수 없으므로 이를 인정할수 없다고 후안무치하게 놀아대고있는것은 미국의 잔인성과 야만성을 적라라하게 보여주고있다.
우크라이나에서의 《민간인보호》를 운운하면서 《인도주의참사》에 대해 요란스럽게 떠들어대던 미국이 이스라엘의 극악한 민간인학살행위에 대해서는 함구무언하면서 이를 극구 묵인조장하고있는것이야말로 이중기준의 극치이다.
지금 국제사회는 세계도처에서 대규모항의시위와 집회들을 통해 민간인학살을 꺼리낌없이 자행하고있는 이스라엘과 이를 극구 비호하고 묵인조장하고있는 미국에 인간도살행위를 당장 중지할것을 강력히 요구하고있다.
지난 10월 27일 유엔총회 특별긴급회의에서 120개국의 찬성으로 인도주의목적의 즉시적인 정전을 요구하는 결의가 채택되고 28일에는 인류를 반대하는 이스라엘의 전쟁범죄행위를 끝장내고 민간인보호를 위한 즉시적인 정화를 실현할데 대한 중동지역 나라들의 성명이 발표된것은 국제사회의 강력한 항의와 분노의 폭발이다.
이스라엘에 대한 미국의 일변도정책과 무모한 군사적지원정책은 무고한 아랍인대량학살을 초래하는 특대형전쟁범죄로서 국제형사재판소에 회부되고 유엔인권리사회에서 축출되여야 할 나라는 바로 미국이다.
세계도처에서 강권과 전횡을 일삼고있는 미국의 이중기준을 종식시키는것은 공정하고 정의로운 국제질서수립의 선결조건으로 된다.
