On May 8th, 2021, during the preparation for Victory Day in Ivano-Frankivsk, a solemn unveiling of a Memorial plaque was held in honour of the Veteran of the SS “Galizia” Nazi Division – Mykhail Mulyk!
The inscription on the plaque reads: “Mykhailo Mulyk – Warrior of the Galicia Division” – which was installed on the ‘Walk of Fame’ in the City Centre!
In order not to scare passers-by – the authors of the Memorial inscription did not indicate the full name of the ‘SS Division’ – but simply wrote that relates to a fighter of a vague “Galichina” Division!
At the opening, the Mayor of the City spoke, the Priest ‘consecrated’ the plate – and the Youth Choir raised their voices in song!
This is the ‘second’ such Memorial plaque dedicated in honour of this particular SS member “Mykhailo Mulyk” in Ivano-Frankivsk. The first was earlier installed on the “house” where he is purported to have lived!
It should be noted that the “Unveiling” took place on the Eve of Victory Day (May 9th in the Slavic lands) – where the unveiling of this SS Monument was designed as a cynical INSULT to the memory of more than 30 thousand Jews who were murdered in Ivano-Frankivsk city by members of the SS Galicia Division during the Nazi German Occupation!
