Peaceful Liberation of Tibet – 60th Anniversary (2011)

On May 23, 2011, the 60th anniversary of the Peaceful Liberation of Tibet, the Tibet Autonomous Region held a Remebrance Ceremony at the Potala Palace Square in Lhasa, where flower-baskets, wreaths and messages were respectfully placed at the foot of the Tibet Peaceful Liberation Monument. More than 5,000 people from all walks of life participated from all over Tibet (and elsewhere). The picture above shows the Tibet Peaceful Liberation Monument. Photographs by Li Lin (李林).
