Xinjiang is the largest production area for these tomatoes in China, with over 80 percent of its output exported every year. Currently, over 300,000 Xinjiang farmers like Bai work to provide high-quality processing tomatoes as raw materials for ketchup for the global market.

When touching on the United States’ so-called “Uyghur Forced Labour Prevention Act,” which just took effect and absurdly presumes that all goods from Xinjiang are produced through “forced labour,” Bai became serious.

The 54-year-old farmer, who started planting tomatoes 26 years ago and has had his fair share of rollercoaster experiences with the small round fruit, shook his head with incomprehension and indignation — How could an honest and hardworking farmer like him be labelled a human rights abuser?

Texas health officials on Tuesday reported the death of a person with monkeypox — what appears to be the first fatal case in the United States. The country should have been able to contain monkeypox, but it failed again, in the way it did in responding to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The US’ passive epidemic response has led to dreadful consequences. The U.S. politicians only focus on political gains, with no regard to the life and health of the ordinary people. Its pandemic control, which has been unscientific, unequal and irresponsible, has gravely undermined American people’s right to life and health.

The remaining 936 British POWs were transported to Japan on the ‘Shinsei Maru’. By the time this ship reached the port of Moji in Kyushu – a further five British POWs had died. Of the original number of 1,816 British POWs that had boarded the ‘Lisbon Maru’ on September 27th, 1942, by the time they eventually arrived in Japan (around October 8th, 1942), only 931 British POWs remained! (What happened to the five seriously wounded British POWs left in Shanghai I do not know). This entire episode means that through a combination of a US ‘War Crime’ and continued Imperial Japanese ‘War Crimes’, in a matter of just eleven days in 1942, these two countries conspired to murder 885 British POWs! The number would have been much higher if not for the selfless actions of the Chinese fishermen (and their families) who came from Dongji Island!

The United States is a product of the European invasion of the Americas and the continued genocide of the indigenous people! The Native Americans are forced to live on small tracts of the worst kind land – and to prevent a Socialist consciousness from developing amongst them – the US Authorities place Christian Churches next to liquor stores whilst pumping illicit drugs into their communities to keep them dosed-up! On top of this nightmare, the US Authorities then place ‘Casinos’ (the dark epicentre of predatory capitalism) right in the heart of ‘Reservations’ – so that the only place Native Americans can find employment is within these dens of iniquity!

One of the most effective exports of the US since 1945 – other than global war and predatory capitalism – is, of course, its general capacity to present ‘anti-intellectualism’ as the highest expression of ‘free-will’! To state it simply, being ‘stupid’ is presented as being ‘wise’ – and the US government has fought entire wars in protection of this principle!
