In China there is now a two-week holiday with various traditional rituals on certain days! As China moves toward ‘Socialism’ – people are changing and becoming more modern and scientifically minded – and this leads to knew interpretations of reality and historical processes! This is a good thing as dangerous superstitions are abandoned, traditions are clarified and made safe and easily shareable, and Chinese people develop ‘Internationalist’ attitudes and tendencies!

Saying that China supports the strengthening of the authority of the Palestinian National Authority and the enhancement of unity among all parties in Palestine, Xi expressed the hope that Palestine and Israel could resume peace talks as soon as possible so as to bring the peace process in the Middle East back on track.

Xi said China will, as always, provide humanitarian and development assistance to the Palestinian side, support its capacity building and help Palestine develop its economy and improve people’s livelihood.

As a permanent member of the UN Security Council and a responsible major country, China will continue to work with the international community to make positive contributions to the lasting peace, universal security and common prosperity in the Middle East, Xi added.

The expo, which started Friday and will end Sunday, is held after a hiatus of two years because of COVID-19. This year’s expo feature business exhibitions, investment forums and seminars, speed-networking sessions, cultural performances, and familiarization trips to unique tourist attractions across Tanzania. It is being attended by more than 200 domestic and overseas exhibitors, over 100 international buyers from within and outside Africa, and more than 5,000 trade visitors.

Chana said the expo has attracted stakeholders in the tourism industry from countries including China, Indonesia, India, the United Kingdom, Oman, Mozambique, Malawi, Algeria and Zimbabwe.

The leaders of Lebanon and Israel announced Tuesday that the two countries had agreed to resolve a decades-long dispute over their maritime boundary in the eastern Mediterranean. On Thursday, Aoun announced Lebanon’s approval of the final version of the agreement proposed by the U.S. energy envoy Amos Hochstein to demarcate maritime borders with Israel.

World Insights: China’s Sci-Tech Progress Not to be Hammered by Technology Blockade! (14.10.2022)

Up to now, China has established a sci-tech cooperation relationship with more than 160 countries and regions, and joined more than 200 international organizations and multilateral mechanisms.

Thanks to its greater focus on independent innovation and international cooperation, China moved up to the 11th place in the 2022 Global Innovation Index (GII) and firmly remains the only middle-income economy in the top 30, showed the latest ranking published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

“China’s growth (in GII ranking) from 34th ten years ago to 11th (in 2022) … is really spectacular. The close attention paid by the government and the country to innovation as an engine of growth is paying off,” WIPO Director General Daren Tang said at the press launch of GII 2022.

“China nurtures its innovation ecosystem in a holistic, comprehensive manner,” he said.
