Sergio Monteiro da Silva of the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology at the University of Sao Paulo, who took part in the excavations, does not believe the nuns were buried together.
“The second nun probably died years later and, during the burial, the first was pushed to the back,” he told the Folha de Sao Paulo.
Mr da Silva said the mummification process had probably happened naturally thanks to good ventilation and low humidity.
“There are no indications that the nuns were mummified,” he told Globo News.
Tests have been done on the bodies and archive research is being carried out to try to identify them. Ms Marino said she hoped the public would be able to view the bodies later this year.

Jonathon King: a Stalinist Approach to History
Jonathon King – who attended the exclusive Charterhouse School in Surrey – is a typical Tory supporting bourgeois, who thinks he is above the law (even though it generally favours the middle class), and who once described the BBC censuring a performance of his from a 1976 episode of Top of the Pops’ (repeated in 2011), as a ‘Stalinist revision approach to history’. Laughingly, in a typical act of duplicity, the BBC (which routinely excises controversial characters from its broadcasts simply by not re-showing programmes) actually thought it proper to ‘apologise’ to King – seemingly validating King’s attitude and approach. This is the same BBC that participated in the demonisation of the Thatcher-supporting King in 2000 (before his trial), but which has refused to cover the devastating effects of the Tory and LibDems ‘Austerity’ programme inflicted upon the ordinary people of the UK since its instigation in 2010, and which has provided ‘positive’ and ‘supportive’ coverage of the neo-Nazi ‘Maidan’ regime currently operating out of Western Ukraine.

Dr Atarov is of the opinion that parents must work to carefully keep their own sexual behaviour strictly separate from the obvious attention of their children (with no affection being displayed in public, or around the children), so that sexual (biological) and emotional urges and behaviours are not triggered too early in the development of the child. Dr Atarov in the USSR, and Dr Kinsey in the US, both appear to have made the same observations about the development of Children in as much as children possess a latent sexual ability that only manifests when triggered by environmental factors, but that this ‘triggering’ should be at a time that is both ‘morally’ and ‘socially’ acceptable, when the child has developed into a young adult, etc. Where as Dr Kinsey in the US equates the early triggering of Child sexual behaviour with sexual abuse (inflicted by offending adults upon young children), Dr Atarov simply equates it with Soviet children perhaps observing (by mistake), their parents in a passionate embrace. This suggests that the plague of child sexual abuse prevalent in the capitalist West, did not exist in the Soviet Union, and was unknown.
