Windsor Catle - St George's Chapel - A sketch drawn in 1888 by Alfred Young Nutt, Surveyor to the Dean and Canons, of the vault containing the coffins of King Charles I (left), King Henry VIII (centre) and his Queen, Jane Seymour (at right). Upon Charles' coffin is the small coffin of a still-born child of the Princess George of Denmark, later Queen Anne.

Email: The Original & Developed Roman Calendar! (10.8.2026)

. In 1751 the Calendar Act was passed by Parliament – so that in 1752 – New Year’s Day would fall for the first-time on “January 1st” – as opposed to the traditonal “March 25th” (the latter bang the original Roman “New Year” – subsequently adopted by the Christian Church to celebrate “Lady’s Day” – referring to “Mary Mother of Christ” Day – as the UK was now “Protestant” Mary was no longer the central figure she still is in the now ousted Catholic Church). Interestingly, when I worked in an Accountancy firm in the UK, the “Financial Year” legally began on “April 1st” – the retaining of the old Pagan New Year for financial purposes – I am told (a time of “plenty” in the world as Spring has arrived). What happened after the 1752 change is that all the historical dates were altered to reflect the new calendar – with “January 1st” now being “New Year”. Therefore, King Charles I was executed in “1649” and not the actual “1648” – as “January 1st” (New Year) had come and gone prior to the event. Sometimes in UK textbooks, you may find acronyms like “OD” (“Old Date”) and “ND” (New Date) next to differing years – or something similar. So, King Charles died in 1648 (OD) and 1649 (ND) – and so on. As time has gone by, quite often the “Old Dates” have been forgotten altogether – until a particularly efficient historian decides to brush-off the cobwebs.

Joseph Stalin 1935 Painting

USSR: 1953 Soviet Painting Commemorating a [1935] Speech by Joseph Stalin – Renovated After a 14-Year Effort in Russia! (6.8.2026)

I have translated this (2024) article as it is succinct and to the point. However, there are articles today (2026) discussing how this picture is now on display in Moscow again. This picture is huge and I have conveyed its size in the picture above. Joseph Stalin was perhaps the greatest working class leader whoever lived. He built the USSR – and protected it from Trotsky – after the 1924 death of Lenin. He initiated the 1936 Constitution of the USSR. He took on and beat Adolf Hitler – saving the world from fascism. He steered the USSR through the war years – and inspired the Soviet Space Effort. Following his 1953 death – he was betrayed by Khrushchev (and his followers) – who laid the foundations for Gorbachev and the 1991 collapse of the Soviet Union. Even today, there are brain-washed Russians who believe the lies of the US – and see Joseph Stalin as a “Tyrant” – despite the fact that he was continuously “elected” into office – with the people refusing to allow him to retire. He literally died in office because the Soviet people demanded it.

Science Fiction that "Thinks"!

UK: The Genius of Terry Nation’s “Survivors” Series! (4.8.2026)

If you watch, read, or listen, to Terry Nation’s “Survivors” (1975) – you will see civilisation suddenly collapse due to a type of flu that is spread around the world via jet-liners (international travelling being a relatively new phenomena for the masses at the time). The USSR existed then and the US was engaged in a “Cold War” with it at the time (it turns out that illnesses are no respecter of political ideology). The US laughably believed that the Soviets possessed a “weather-altering machine” and would use it to usher-in a new ice-age. To this end, the US government ordered the British government (something of a US lap-dog at the time) to put-out the false propaganda that an “ice-age” was coming! The BBC made disinforming series about this whilst academics happily conformed despite all the data denying this assertion. This was the fake climate change argument of the day – and individuals lost their career when denying it.

Kai-Lin Driving the Tractor!

Surrey: US WWII “Jeep”, Garage & Tractors! (30.5.2026)

Structures like this formed the early “Garages” – or “Petrol Stations” in the UK. This version caters to the early car-driver – who were few in number – and the bicycle rider – which were many in number. Bicycles were the main business – with the rich car-drivers forming a lesser number – although potentially lucrative due to the ongoing costs of maintaining a car. Below is a WWII US “Jeep”. The story is that these were originally called “General Purpose” (GP) Vehicles – but that a US shoulder spelt the initials “GP” as “Jeep” – and the designation stuck and is really popular. The US was an ally of the UK and USSR during WWII – and thousands of Jeeps were used during D-Day and afterwards!

Field-Stripping Devices is an Important Skill!

Surrey: Gee & Kai-Lin Field Strip & Assemble a Wooden Stool! (29.5.2026)

Anyway, we visited the “Rural Life Living Museum” (ob May 28th, 2026) – not far from the log-cabin area we were staying at in Tilford (a bourgeois cesspit of wealth). We have visited similar places not far from Sutton, and also in Oxford, Devon, and Cornwall. Many Moons ago, I visited places like this in the Lake District and in Scotland. They are essentially centres of education for school-children – and for adults to reminisce. My childhood (pre-Star Wars) was a very different reality to that which exists today. The working-class pre-1977 were very localised in mentality – with the middle-class attending university and developing a world-wide appreciation. This difference in education always benefits the middle-class who understand more and are able to use this knowledge to keep the workers in their place. Stll, it was a good day out and I will have to author a number of posts to cover it all.

Fidel Signs Land Reform!

Cuba: 67-Years Ago – Fidel Signed First “Land-Reform Law”! (18.5.2026)

And he concluded his speech on that historic day with “the infinite satisfaction of having fulfilled one more promise, of having contributed to making possible the well-being of millions of compatriots who have been suffering in neglect and oblivion, and who were the ones who, in ’68, in ’95, and in this latest liberating struggle, made the greatest sacrifices.”

“It was necessary to write, once and for all in our pure lone star, that formula of the Apostle that the homeland was for everyone and for the good of all.”
