Master Chan Tin Sang c. 1956 Enhanced Photo

UK: Enhanced Photographs of – Chan Tin Sang [陳天生] – Our Hakka-Chinese Grandfather! (1.10.2026)

The British Authorities refused to arm the local populace. Most of his family were captured, tortured and brutally murdered by the Imperial Japanese Forces. Due to the bravery of the Hakka people – the British Authorities took the unusual step of raising a monument to their bravery in the New Territories after the British resumed colonial control of the region in 1945 – following the Imperial Japanese Surrender. To be clear, the Hakka people were “civilian” men, women, and children offered no military support (unlike the brave Gurkha warriors). As a consequence, and due to their bravery and law-abiding behaviour, the British State invited these “Guest People” ro resettle in the UK as a reward for their loyalty and sacrifice. Master Chan Tin Sanng – our Chinese grandfather – was a martial arts Master who brought his gongfu style to the West and transmitted the lineage to Adrian Chan-Wyles – the only inheritor of the complete style.

Duddington Postcard to Diane Wyles!

Duddington: A Special Postcard to Diane Wyles! (31.7.2025)

We visited (the 16th century) Kirby Hall today situated in the Northants countryside. On the way back – a solitary road-sign directed us to a “Historical Church”. This turned-out to be the 11th century “St Peter’s Church” (of Deene) – founded in 1060 – just six-years prior to the Norman Conquest of 1066. Well, this Church was unlocked and in it we found a selection of free postcards. On the way back to the place we are staying at in Easton-on-the-Hill – we stopped at the Highfield area of Duddington so that Kai-Lin could play in the adventure playground situated there. We wrote out the postcard, affixed a stamp (we only had 2nd Class) and popped it in the Duddington Post-Box – filming and photographing the entire process. The post will be collected tomorrow – at 9 am. The card will then meander its way to Paignton in Devon!

Diane Wyles c. 1975 - of the Lakota Tribe!

Torquay: Strange Goings within the English Riviera! (24.5.2025)

Above is my esteemed mother – Diane Wyles – and you can see the “Asian” influence – in this instance she is distantly linked to the squaws of Lakota Sioux – who defeated Custer at the Little Big Horn (it’s a long story). The Lakota women cut holes in the dead Custer’s ears – so that in his next life he would “listen”. As I have said many times, my family is ethnically mixed and proud to be so. My mother today is in her late 70s and very much the victim of an uncaring and collapsing British State. Her body is ageing and fragile but her spirit is strong.

Stone (Pebble) Painted By Diane Wyles!

UK: Happy International Labour Day – Comrades! (1.5.2025)

The struggle of the workers is universal and ongoing – regardless of the forces of oppression arrayed against us – and those forces can be substantial! Take solace that the dialectical power of history is on your side despite your individual misery – and that one-day its class buoyancy will remedy the alienating inversion – and turned everything the right way around! Today’s suffering will become tomorrow’s joy and liberation! As Marx said, prepare for betrayal and setback – prepare for ruthless oppression. These things will come to the workers with the greatest of ease. What we must fight for is our own liberation – and this is a battle that will be long and hard! Collective freedom is only achieved through often immense individual suffering. When the Irish Nationalists used to be Marxists – they used to say “Alone – Together!”

Gee's Birthday Treat - Cornish Cream Tea!

UK: Gee’s Birthday Treat – Cornish Cream Tea! (5.12.2024)

The box is delivered by a private Courier and contains four scones, four pots of jam, four tea-bags, two-bags of biscuits, and a pot of clotted cream! We breakout the best China tea-pot and tea-cups and saucers to consume this magnificent gift! As my parents live in Devon, we often visit nearby Cornwall and appreciate the history and old buildings. Cornwall is essentially a “Celtic” region of the UK with kilts, bagpipes and a Gaelic language all of its own!

Lay Mum's Stair-Carpet 2023!

Paignton: Laying the Stair-Carpet! (27.12.2023)

I say ‘properly’ – but what I mean is doing the job ‘to the best of our ability’ – which is far from professional (but then none of us are carpet-layers or decorators)! The entire job took about three-hours and we did a good job all things considered. Gee interspersed sessions of hammering nails with myself – whilst Paul kept the carpet ‘straight’ and unrolling properly! Manual labour is the essence of social, cultural and political development! None of us are beneath manual labour!
