The idea of a Buddhist flag is tantamount to Buddhist terrorism in as much as it symbolises the alignment of Buddhism with the modern, capitalist State, and signifies a disturbing trend of replacing Buddhist philosophy with the ideology of greed. This is a false Buddhism that ‘normalises’ suffering in the mind and body of the masses. In fact it is not ‘Buddhism’ at all, but rather a superficial mirage in saffron robes.
The Buddha advises that all those who follow his path must ‘uproot’ ALL ignorance. This instruction alone proves that the Buddha was a ‘scientist’ and not a religious teacher in the conventional sense.
The modern liberal notion of ‘freedom of speech’ is an error of interpretation for the Buddha, because such speech is never ‘free’ of greed, hatred and delusion in the unenlightened state. In reality ‘freedom of speech’ is the institutionalisation of the freedom to spread greed, hatred, and delusion throughout the world, with no thought for the consequences.
A Buddhist – whether monastic or lay – is a true revolutionary committed to uprooting the basis of deluded society in the mind, body and environment. This pragmatic Buddhist approach parallels the Scientific Socialism of Marxist-Engelism and Marxist-Leninism – and Buddhists are advised to study these teachings in all their manifestations (including Joseph Stalin and Mao Zedong) as an important step in transforming the modern world for the better.
The bourgeoisie misrepresent Buddhism and represent the very class privilege that the Buddha thoroughly rejected and transcended. This is because the bourgeoisie are ‘attached’ to an image of being ‘Buddhist’ that has no bearing in reality. For a bourgeois to truly become a Buddhist, he or she must fully reject the very ignorance that has historically given them their privileged life-style at the expense of the working class.
The Buddha may have been the first spiritual teacher to overtly base his teaching upon anti-racism. A true Buddhist harbours no hate in either mind
