Thich Quang Duc (释广德) [1897-1963]

Thich Quang Duc’s action produced a mind altering paradigm shift throughout the world that is still being discussed today. He demonstrated the power of Buddhist mind control during a very painful death – whereas no Christian believers (beyond the realms of imagination, superstition, or the paranormal) have managed to rise from the dead.

Oliver Cromwell and the Abolition of State Sanctioned ‘Christmas’

Oliver Cromwell was a very civilised, intelligent and progressive individual. He was also a devout Christian. Why, then, did he agree to ‘ban’ Christmas? He carried out this progressive measure because he thought that it was a great evil for the State to ‘enforce’ a religious celebration upon its citizens. As a consequence, Cromwell oversaw the legislation that ‘banned’ the State sanctioning of a national holiday that had, in his and many other Christian’s eye, no connection with legitimate Christian practice.

Human Rights and Neo-Imperilism

Today, the socio-economic forces of the West have produced the conditions for the human mind to move beyond the conditioning of a theology that reflects medieval (and earlier) conditions, and which have led to the development of secular logic and presumed superior standards of moral behaviour. The problem with this development is that it is not ‘free’ of the Judeo-Christian tradition that has served as its historical basis.
