Xi Jinping Welcomes the 11th Panchen Lama and Encourages Him in His Spiritual Studies! (26.10.2020)
During this meeting, Xi Jinping encouraged him to study with diligence, practice with a pure intent, uphold the last wish of the 10th Panchen Lama, uphold the Buddhist concept of equality and compassion for all living beings, actively promote the adaptation of Tibetan Buddhism to the reality of a Socialist Society, and strive to become a person with profound Buddhist attainments and deep spiritual roots! Xi Jinping explained that a true Living Buddha is loved by all Tibetan Buddhist monastics and Tibetan lay people – and must strive to be loved by all the people of the world!
Down House: Meeting Darwin’s Bees! (9.7.2022)
We have visited Down House a number of times in the past for educational needs – and to marvel at Darwin’s copy of Marx’s ‘Das Kapital’ that is no longer on display (follow the link to read my article on the Buddhist Marxism Alliance UK website)! We last came in March (2022) as ‘Lockdown’ was abating! However, at this time we noticed that there was no Bees! We were told by a member of staff working in the ‘Out-House’ that the Bees are only at Down House during the Summer months and that they are moved to a warmer area (possibly in-doors) for the rest of the year!

If anyone can repair this, please contact the Temple. Upon reflection I suspect children climbing the elephants have not helped matters over the years… The left-hand elephant nobly sustained our two children!

The attitude of the Buddha exists within the sacred space of this temple in a country which otherwise advocates a brutal and uncaring socio-economic ideology and society! The Buddha would never have accepted this system as being ‘valid’ or applicable for attaining and living with a healthy mind and body!
