Donald Trump wants Cuba to be alone, to repeat the history of 1962, when the United States set in motion the expulsion of Cuba from the OAS, “that ugly thing,” which Cubans then laughed at in a guaracha, by the singer Carlos Puebla, and Foreign Minister Raúl Roa described as the Yankee Ministry of Colonies.

By then, the mercenary invasion of the Bay of Pigs that the CIA had organized had already failed and President John F. Kennedy was a few days away from signing the papers of the infamous blockade that, one after another, 13 presidents have been tightening in the personal search to be the one who “brings the rebel island to its knees.”

It was on January 31 of that year of 1962 – would later lead to the October Crisis, the world on the brink of nuclear war, when following the orders of the United States, the countries of Latin America expelled Cuba from the Organization of American States and broke diplomatic relations. Only one of the nation refused this US dictate, the Mexico of Estrada Doctrine, that of respect for the rights of all, because that is the basis of peace that Benito Juárez engraved in the conscience of a people and in its Constitution. The current president Claudia Sheinbaum continues this practice of Latin American dignity.

Months earlier, in 1961, two countries had broken off diplomatic relations – Venezuela and Colombia – and after the decision of the OAS it was the collapse of shame.

Now the same complicit alignment with Trump’s imperial desires is intended, which pleases him through whispers in his ear, the scoundrel Marco Rubio, who aspires to be President, like an orgasm… of the United States, not of Cuba as its lord believes.

The total oil siege must be the gear that puts an end to the persistent resistance of the Cubans, the coup de grace.

Am I going to continue writing these lines from the “impartiality” of journalism? NO.

We Cubans, from the courage bequeathed to us by our heroes of independence, especially José Martí, have avoided for almost seven decades of premeditated overwhelm that blockade that today, the lord of Mar-a-Lago – the mimicked Miami white house – turns the vile club and boasts that it will be the end, what suffocates us as a people and destroys us as a nation.

“Regime change” they call it, but the pretension is much more than that. Surely he has the precise plans for his great Cuban resort, a golf course with the figure of a crocodile in which he makes a hole, a deep one where he drowns us as a fifty-something state or free associated state 0.2. That is his dream. But we are the nightmare.

That is how things are on this side of the globe. Now he does not need to go to the OAS, much more depressed than ever before. He has directly summoned, as lord and master, the presidents of the continental hemisphere proclaimed as his own in the “corollary” of the Monroe Doctrine. To the submissive right.

Cuba is already going to fall, he has said, and it should be one of the greatest trophies in the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the independence of that country that became part of an unhealthy “American” empire, because that is how it was conceived since its founding years.

Cynicism is coldly displayed in each statement, and he is making them daily: “What is happening with Cuba is incredible, and we believe that we want to fix it… finish this first (a reference to the war against Iran), but it will only be a matter of time before you and many incredible people return to Cuba, hopefully not to stay,” he said and looked at the little narco, I meant Marco Rubio, whom he likes for “doing a fantastic job in a place called Cuba.” and he emphasizes with a cutting threat “and the next one will be… we want to make that Cuba special.” And hoping that the total overwhelm will make “the ripe fruit” fall under its weight, he says that it will be a “friendly takeover”.

The scene of the perfidious manoeuvre was at the Trump National Doral Golf Club, his luxurious resort in Doral, Florida, a few steps from the Miami of the anti-Cuban mafia that he already celebrates.

Twelve “leaders” of the right were summoned and joyfully attended, as declared allies of the U.S. pretensions for the region, which are proclaimed: to end “criminal narco-terrorist gangs and cartels,” to counteract “illegal and massive migration, not only to the United States but to the Western Hemisphere.”

But the Cuban issue was muted, and there were previous reactions from the “adelantados”, as in those 60s: Ecuador has expelled Cuban diplomats, while Honduras and Jamaica left their peoples without the Cuban doctors who for years, in the collaboration brigades, treated them with professionalism and humanism.

For the condemnation of history, the names of those attending the Saturday meeting that they have called the Shield of the Americas Summit and described as a “historic coalition” remain.

On the bandwagon of the ignominy of the Donroe Doctrine, presidents Javier Milei (Argentina), Rodrigo Paz (Bolivia), Nayib Bukele (El Salvador), Daniel Noboa (Ecuador), Nasry Asfura (Honduras), Santiago Peña (Paraguay); Rodrigo Chaves (Costa Rica), José Raúl Mulino (Panama), Luis Abinader (Dominican Republic), Irfaan Ali (Guyana), José Antonio Kast (President-elect of Chile) and Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar (Trinidad and Tobago).

Surely, there they made “the wave” to the delusions of grandeur of the neighbor of the bitter “maralago” so that it can “consolidate” its political and economic ambitions in the Americas, sowing instability with its great stick…. They also received contempt for the submissives, to whom he said: “I’m not going to learn your damn language.”

So for his plan, which militarizes those countries with U.S. troops, he presented them as the recently dismissed Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, as the U.S. special envoy for the Shield of the Americas, surely because she has plenty of experience in persecuting and detaining Latinos with Trump’s reprehensible Gestapo, ICE.

That’s how things go; however, in the White House in Washington or in the substitute, they must know that Cuba is firm and is not alone, nor isolated. As a recommendation: Beware of the pandemonium unleashed by you in the Middle East!

Cuba, sueño o pesadilla de Trump

Donald Trump quiere que Cuba esté sola, que se repita la historia de 1962, cuando Estados Unidos puso en movimiento la expulsión de la OEA, “esa cosa tan fea”, de la que los cubanos entonces se rieron en una guaracha, del cantor Carlos Puebla, y el canciller Raúl Roa calificó como el Ministerio de Colonias yanqui.

Entonces, ya había fracasado la invasión mercenaria por Playa Girón que la CIA había organizado y el presidente John F. Kennedy estaba a unos días de firmar los papeles del infame bloqueo que, uno tras otros, 13 presidentes han ido apretando en la búsqueda personal de ser quien “doblego a la Isla rebelde”.

Era el 31 de enero de aquel año de 1962 que más tarde desembocaría en la Crisis de Octubre, el mundo al borde de la guerra nuclear, cuando siguiendo las órdenes de Estados Unidos los países de América Latina expulsaron a Cuba de la Organización de Estados Americanos y rompieron relaciones diplomáticas. Una sola de las naciones fue la excepción, el México de la Doctrina Estrada, el del respeto al derecho de todos, porque ese es el basamento de la paz que grabó Benito Juárez en la conciencia de un pueblo y en su Constitución. La actual presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum continúa esa práctica de dignidad latinoamericana.

Meses antes, en 1961 dos países habían roto las relaciones diplomáticas —Venezuela y Colombia—, y a partir de la decisión de la OEA fue el derrumbe de la vergüenza.

Ahora se pretende idéntico alineamiento cómplice con los anhelos imperiales de Trump, los cuales complacen como un orgasmo a su susurrador al oído, el marrullero Marco Rubio, quien aspira a ser Presidente… de Estados Unidos, no de Cuba como se cree su señor.

El total cerco petrolero debe ser el engranaje que ponga punto final a la persistente resistencia de los cubanos, el tiro de gracia.

¿Acaso voy a seguir escribiendo estas líneas desde la “imparcialidad” del periodismo? NO.

Los cubanos, desde el coraje que nos legaron nuestros próceres de la independencia, en especial José Martí, hemos sorteado durante casi siete décadas de agobio premeditado ese bloqueo que hoy, el señor de Mar-a-Lago —la mimetizada casa blanca miamense— le da vuelta al garrote vil y presume de que será el final, lo que nos ahogue como pueblo y nos destroce como nación.

“Cambio de régimen” le dicen, pero la pretensión es mucho más que eso. De seguro tiene los planes precisos para su gran resort cubano, un campo de golf con figura de cocodrilo en el que haga hoyo, uno profundo donde nos ahogue como estado cincuenta y tanto o estado libre asociado 0.2. Ese es su sueño. Pero nosotros somos la pesadilla.

Así están las cosas por este lado del globo terráqueo. Ahora no le hace falta acudir a la OEA, mucho más venida a menos que nunca antes. Él ha convocado directamente, como amo y señor, a los presidentes del Hemisferio continental proclamado como suyo en el «corolario» de la Doctrina Monroe. A la derecha sumisa.

Cuba ya va a caer, ha dicho y debe suponernos como uno de los trofeos mayores en la celebración del 250 aniversario de la independencia de aquel país devenido en malsano imperio “americano”, porque así se concibió desde sus años fundadores.

El cinismo se despliega fríamente en cada declaración, y las está haciendo a diario: “Lo que está pasando con Cuba es increíble, y creemos que queremos arreglar… terminar este primero (una referencia a la guerra contra Irán), pero será solo una cuestión de tiempo antes de que ustedes y muchas personas increíbles regresen a Cuba, ojalá no para quedarse”, dijo y miraba al pequeño narco, quise decir Marco Rubio, a quien tiene a bien por “hacer un trabajo fantástico en un lugar llamado Cuba”, y enfatiza con una cortante amenaza “y el próximo será… queremos hacer esa Cuba especial”. Y esperanzado en que el agobio total haga caer por su peso “la fruta madura”, dice que será una “toma de control amistosa”.

El escenario de la pérfida maniobra fue en el Trump National Doral Golf Club, su lujoso resort en Doral, Florida, a pocos pasos del Miami de la mafia anticubana que ya celebra.

Doce “líderes” de la derecha fueron convocados y asistieron gozosos, como aliados declarados de las pretensiones estadounidenses para la región, las que se pregonan: acabar con las “bandas y cárteles narcoterroristas criminales”, contrarrestar “la migración ilegal y masiva, no solo a Estados Unidos sino al hemisferio occidental”.

Pero en sordina estaba el asunto cubano, y hubo reacciones previas de los “adelantados”, como en aquellos años 60: Ecuador ha expulsado a los diplomáticos cubanos, mientras Honduras y Jamaica dejaron a sus pueblos sin los médicos cubanos que durante años, en las brigadas de colaboración, los atendieron con profesionalidad y humanismo.

Para la condena de la historia quedan los nombres de los asistentes al conciliábulo sabatino que han llamado Shield of the Americas Summit (Cumbre del Escudo de las Américas) y calificado como “coalición histórica”.

En el carro de la ignominia de la Doctrina Donroe, van montados los presidentes Javier Milei (Argentina), Rodrigo Paz (Bolivia), Nayib Bukele (El Salvador), Daniel Noboa (Ecuador), Nasry Asfura (Honduras), Santiago Peña (Paraguay); Rodrigo Chaves (Costa Rica), José Raúl Mulino (Panamá), Luis Abinader (República Dominicana), Irfaan Alí (Guyana), José Antonio Kast (presidente electo de Chile) y la primera ministra Kamla Persad-Bissessar (Trinidad y Tobago).

De seguro, allá hicieron “la ola” a los delirios de grandeza del vecino del amargo “maralago” para que pueda “consolidar” sus ambiciones políticas y económicas en las Américas, sembrando la inestabilidad con su gran garrote…. También recibieron el desprecio a los sumisos, a quienes dijo: “No voy a aprender su maldito idioma”.

Así que para su plan, que militariza con tropas estadounidenses a esos países, les presentó como enviada especial de Estados Unidos para el Escudo de las Américas a la recientemente destituida secretaria del Departamento de Seguridad Nacional, Kristi Noem, seguro porque tiene sobrada experiencia en perseguir y detener latinos con la repudiable Gestapo de Trump, el ICE.

Así van las cosas; sin embargo, en la Casa Blanca de Washington o en la sucedánea, deben saber que Cuba está firme y no está sola, ni aislada. Como recomendación: ¡Cuídese del pandemonio desatado por Ud. en el Oriente Medio!
