Hind Rajab Foundation files war crimes complaint against German-Israeli soldier
The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) has lodged a criminal complaint in Germany against Shimon Avi Zuckerman, a German-Israeli dual national, accusing him of war crimes and crimes against humanity related to the destruction of the Palestinian village of Khuza’a in Gaza, east of Khan Yunis.
The complaint cites verified evidence, including social media posts by Zuckerman, showing him celebrating the demolition of civilian infrastructure. According to the filing, Zuckerman was identified in multiple videos and posts, which frequently showed graphic images of destruction, accompanied by celebratory actions like smoking shisha, cheering with fellow soldiers, or posing for photos before and after explosions.
The HRF is requesting a formal investigation, an arrest warrant, and pre-trial detention.
This filing adds to the HRF’s ongoing efforts to hold Israeli military personnel accountable for war crimes, with previous complaints filed in multiple countries.
