We all piled into the car at around 8 am this morning (Sunday March 24, 2024) to drive to nearby Redhill (East Surrey). Many years ago (1983-1984) I attended a College in Reigate and had my Student Digs in an ex-motel situated on the road to Merstham. This was at the time of “free” universal further and higher education and youths were prone to travel far and wide. The evil Tories abolished this “Socialist” educational system (paid for through taxation) in 1988 – but before this date we never received the tens of thousands of pounds of debt that students leave education with today.

However, my youngest daughter – Kai-Lin (7-years old) – attends a Gymnastics class once a week near Wallington. Due to her diligence and perseverance, Kai-Lin was offered a place in a Gymnastics Competition held at a school in Merstham. She had to perform a Floor Routine and use the High Bar – both of which she achieved very well.

Kailin Declared 3rd Place – and Bronze Medal Winner!

Every Monday evening at around 5 pm – and after a long day at school – Kai-Lin gets her sport gear on and heads out to train in Gymnastics at Wood Field School. Sundays are usually the only day Kai-Lin has a complete rest – but she was up at 7 am and loosening up for today’s challenge! The Judges ruled that over-all – the points Kai-Lin earned – secured a “Bronze Medal” in her group! Kai-Lin demonstrated that sheer will-power can prevail!
