To be honest, I think the Singapore State is “reaching”. The elaborate story the State has constructed is so bizarre as to beggar belief! The narrative is so subtle, devious and complex that it is unlikely that all of it could have unfolded according to plan and without any hitches. To be blunt – I think it is implausible and that the Singapore State would have preferred that Alverna Cher Sheue Pin simply pleaded “Guilty” out of fear – and then the State would not have to hold a trial and be made to prove its case! Beautiful owner of funeral company denies inciting ex-boyfriend to commit suicide, trial begins!
Xu Xuebin (徐雪彬) – a female owner of a city funeral service – has been accused of instigating her ex-boyfriend Wei Junxiang (魏俊祥) to commit suicide.

The beautiful owner of a funeral company denies abetting her ex-boyfriend’s suicide and intends to contest the charges. The case will be heard in the National Court today (October 27th, 2023).
The Defendant is Xu Xuebin – a female owner of a city funeral service.
Her Western (English) name is “Alverna Cher Sheue Pin”. Alverna Cher Sheue Pin was originally charged with Manslaughter of her 32-year-old ex-boyfriend (known in English as “Wee Junxiang”) but the charge was later changed to Instigating Suicide – thus escaping a possible life sentence. Alverna Cher Sheue Pin also faces one count of Obstruction of Justice.
According to the Charge – the Defendant allegedly opened a cylinder of nitrogen on the 4B floor of the multi-storey car-park at Block 145A, Bedok Reservoir Road in the afternoon of May 16th, 2020 – and assisted Wei Junxiang to commit suicide by inhaling nitrogen. Alverna Cher Sheue Pin then placed the nitrogen cylinder into a bag and had an unknowing third-party “remove” the evidence from the scene.
The Defendant’s behaviour was alleged to have been intended to assist Wei Junxiang in committing suicide – which is tantamount to instigating others to commit suicide – violating Article 306 of the Criminal Code of Singapore.
Another Charge of Perverting the Course of justice alleges that the Defendant asked another person to drive away a truck containing the nitrogen cylinder – arrange for the discarding of the bag – and then falsely report to the Police that Wei Junxiang had complained to her of chest discomfort two weeks before the incident and that he suspected he had a heart condition – from which he subsequently died.
If found guilty of Abetting Suicide – she could face up to ten years in prison and a fine. The maximum penalty for Perverting the Course of Justice is imprisonment for up to seven years, a fine, or both.
The case is still under review.

殡葬公司美女老板否认教唆前男友自杀，要对控状进行抗辩，案件今天（27日）在国家法院开审。
被告是城市殡葬服务女老板徐雪彬
（Alverna Cher Sheue Pin），她原本涉嫌误杀32岁前男友魏俊祥（Wee Jun Xiang）被控，不过控状之后改为教唆他人自杀罪，逃过可能面对终身监禁的命运。此外，她也面对一项妨碍司法公正的罪名。
撤换律师 否认罪行
控状修改后，被告原本要在今年7月份认罪，但她当时不仅撤换了代表律师，还改变主意说不愿意认罪，案件之后进行审前会议，展期到今天开审。
根据控状，被告涉嫌在2020年5月16日下午时分，在勿洛蓄水池路第145A座的多层停车场4B楼层，打开一罐氮气（nitrogen），并帮魏俊祥把罐子放倒，把氮气装进袋子里，协助魏俊祥吸入氮气自杀。
被告的行为被指有意图协助魏俊祥自杀，等同教唆他人自杀，触犯了刑事法典第306条文。
另一项妨碍司法公正控状则指被告要求另一人将装着氮气罐的货车开走、丢弃涉事袋子，以及向警方谎报魏俊祥曾在事发前两周向她申诉胸口不适，并且怀疑他心脏病发而亡。
若教唆自杀罪名成立，她可面对长达十年监禁，以及罚款。妨碍司法公正的最高刑罚则是长达七年监禁、罚款，或者两者兼施。
案件仍在续审中。
